Not as bad as he thought it would be is not the same as liking it. He's also basing the entire thing on the assumption that catching metrics are way off and Yadi is a 4 WAR player. Everyone knows that Yadier Molina was a 0.3 defensive WAR player the last few years. i have no problem admitting that there have been cubs players i actively rooted against, and i'm not going to let some toolbox try to thought-police me out of it either. if you can't get joy out of trying to predict which side of the field juan-for-five pierre is going to ground out to, you ain't alive.

that's just totally random to me. the symmetry or lack thereof? i'm pretty sure, if we're talking measured dimensions, stadiums where the lf/lc and rf/rc are the same are very rare. and even when they're close, we're talking different angles and wall heights to take into consideration. especially all of the newer, post-comiskular field designs. i dunno, this just seems like such a bizarre quality to latch on to, considering all of the other elements that make wrigley field unique. i especially hate those split squad games where one is televised and invariably it's the one featuring all of the guys who get cut within the next week and a half

i love the polo grounds idea, but there's no way these games happen at soldier field. what i don't get is why would anyone not want to play a season at the cell? it would be awesome. the "world's largest gay bar" t-shirt opportunity alone is worth the price of admission.
