  1. Damn nice, so we’ll find out by the end of this week if he’s coming here or not
  2. Jayden Daniels was clearer the better player this year. But that is fine, if Caleb is still a very good QB (and I think he showed quite a lot to feel good about this year) If Daniels ends up the superior player (and much remains to be seen) and Williams is still an excellent QB, I definitely won’t complain. We’d have an excellent QB!
  3. Would be very Lions to lose this game. But, could mean we get to talk to Johnson earlier. So that’s nice.
  4. Sure, pay them whatever they want. Dont ever give up a draft pick for one, good lord
  5. Lol, lmao
  6. I would never, ever want to trade real assets for a coach, no matter how good the coach is. You shouldn’t spend player acquisition capital on something that should only cost money.
  7. I think the Bears have a plan: Ben Johnson. Failing that: Mike McCarthy. I don't love it, but thats what the signs point to.
  8. I would love to see what Roschon Johnson could do with more 1st and 2nd down runs. I feel like he got really pigeonholed into being a short yardage back and I would have liked to see him given more to do. Ah well.
  9. Yes I think its safe to say that for nearly every assistant coach in the NFL, any head coaching job is preferable to staying an assistant. There are rare exceptions (Johnson being one of them, but that was only for a year), but yeah. Even the worst job is 100000x more prestigious, interesting, ambitious and fun than being an assistant.
  10. If I'm choosing between the Raiders organization and team as it is constructed right now and the Bears organization and team as it is constructed, I'm picking the Bears 9 times out of 10. But I'm also not Ben Johnson, so my opinion doesn't matter.
  11. My opinion of the Running Back position has moved up a bit in the last year (and eating crow on the Lions drafting Jahmyr Gibbs), but not nearly enough to think the Bears should draft a RB 10th overall. It's one thing for the Lions to be able to draft one while putting together a stud offensive line as a finishing touch of a team that is ready to make the playoffs, its another on a team that has maybe 1 lineman they feel really good about.
  12. We've been saying this for like 6 straight years and KC keeps winning.
  13. -9 is a crazy line for the Lions, but of course they looked really, really good all season long. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Commanders keep it close. All of these are great match ups. The NFL did do it well this year.
  14. it oftentimes surprises me to remember that Dallas's GM is the 82 year old billionaire owner lmao
  15. He really just had a big dumb face. I'd feel bad for him but he's a multi-millionaire so he's doing fine.
  16. My problem with McCarthy: he looks like a big dumb idiot
  17. I wouldn't be overly upset if we ended up with Carroll (he's an extremely accomplished coach) but I would absolutely be disappointed. Carroll can only, at best, be a stopgap guy. He's a Floor Guy. And he doesn't solve the most crucial problem facing the Bears; Developing Caleb Williams and installing a professional offense. I mean, it's almost a little maddening to think about who was our OC to start 2024 and who Pete Carroll's last OC was.
  18. Concerning news coming out of Dallas: All of us should be really worried.
  19. Yeah I honestly don't think it gives Brady and the Raiders any real competitive advantage, but it still shouldn't happen
  20. If I'm Ben Johnson i probably want to go to the Bears over the Raiders, factoring in everything. But i dunno what that dude prioritizes or wants, so its impossible to say. Also its completely insane we let a guy who's an owner of an NFL franchise call games. C'mon now, have some semblance of propriety here.
  21. It's not just the Bears, it happened several times against the Eagles (the last play of the game was an example of one, that was rightfully picked off but also "should" have been pass interference as well) And this is good evidence that QBs, especially developing QBs, shouldn't be afraid to just lob balls up there, or put them in some danger, because contrary to how it was 30-40 years ago, its simply not true that more bad things than good things can happen on a pass play. Receivers are way better, defenders are legally not able to do as much as they used to break up passes, and the game is called in a way to incentivize more explosive plays and scoring. It might seem like the worst thing you can do as a QB is throw a pick, but honestly, it's far worse for you to take a sack than it is to throw a ball into danger. These days, anyway.
  22. The thing that I find inexplicable about Jordan Love is he’s the only NFL qb I see consistently throw up complete lollipops, like the equivalent to baseball pop fly, and his receivers somehow just always catch them. Defenders fall over, or misplay the ball, or cause pass interference. It’s not that the receivers are wide open or anything - these are seriously bad passes…and yet he always gets a positive play out of it. It’s truly maddening.
  23. Eh, I don't know if you can say that for sure, Love was still very good this year. I don't know how we're defining 'franchise QB' these days, but he's definitely a good player. Someone worth committing tens of millions to. But he hasn't shown that he has Favre-Rodgers talent yet, no, that's true. Us Bears fans may have finally found the Packers don't have a HALL OF FAME level QB yet. But it remains to be seen. (Because the Football Gods hate us) Annoying to see Jayden Daniels go out and win a playoff game. I haven't been super upset at the Caleb-Daniels-Nix-Whatever comparisons, but it does irk me to see the Commanders go out and win so effortlessly while we've struggled so mightily.
  24. If we were talking about a competent organization, interviewing as many people as possible is a boon: You get to meet them, learn about them, and possibly make connections for the future. *More* interviews isn't necessarily a sign of weakness, dysfunction, or indecision. There are ways you benefit from interviewing people for HC even if you don't really have any real belief you'll sign them. Of course, the Bears aren't a competently run organization.
