  1. Eberflus has reached Marc Trestman level of cluelessness. Nobody wants to reach Dr. Death level of self awareness.
  2. By the way, enjoy this, I think the play that finally ended Shane Waldron's career with the Bears (16:21 if it doesn't load there): The sprint out to the left with 3 routes going to the right. I remember seeing this when it happened and thinking "oh no, there's no way thats how the actual play is supposed to go". I have no idea what was intended to happen here, but it was definitely the most embarrassing thing I've seen from them since last year.
  3. I still don't get how exactly DJ Moore got used the way he did this year. I'm sorry for being a broken record on this, but what happened? Why is he being used for dead-on-arrival WR screens and other junk plays? Does Waldron and/or Caleb hate him? You can tell that DJ wants to be more involved in the offense. One of the few offensive plays I even remember from the Patriots game was when DJ caught a curl, broke a tackle, and hit a first down and was fired the horsefeathers up. I thought there was a slim possibility that could fire up the team and the offense would get going from there. I don't think he's merely checked out because of his paycheck, I think there's something more going on.
  4. I simply refuse to believe that any player truly wants Tyson Bagent over Caleb Williams. I mean, I can buy that DJ Moore is upset at his usage (and justifiably so), but no, I cannot believe he actually wants Bagent over Williams. Nobody is that stupid.
  5. There’s zero value to this season aside from developing and assessing Caleb Willliams. There’s no other purpose to this season at this point. Now if starting Bagent furthers that, if things are so bad and Caleb is too exposed by the offensive line and also spiraling and needs to reboot, I’m open to that argument. But that’s it. If Caleb is dogshit, we have to find that out.
  6. Whats the realistic chance the Bears win this game? 5%? Less?
  7. I don't think its fun bad. I don't think there's a way this season can be fun bad to me. Fun Bad is when the team has no hope or prospects for the future, and you're starting Jimmy Clausen for some reason. This is just sad. Just a shocking reversal from week 6 to now. I don't think I've ever seen a Chicago team reverse course this dramatically. I was dismissing it at the time, but that Hail Mary really did break the team emotionally, which was clearly not a psychologically very strong team. (And Eberflus is definitely not the guy to keep it all together).
  8. Maybe the next guy will find a way to use our star wide receiver as the main option more than the 32 year old who can’t run or catch. And possibly get our tight end a target or two. a seemingly intractable problem that no one can figure out
  9. I mean. Ok. Waldron clearly wasn’t anything special and his game calling in the last game was particularly dreadful. But this feels like firing a hitting coach when an MLB team is struggling. Sure, do it. But I think Eberflus is much more of a problem here and they’re giving us a sacrificial lamb because they can’t fire Eberflus yet.
  10. Yeah I agree- I'm certainly not rooting for Caleb to throw interceptions, but I think his tentativeness is a contributing factor to the team falling apart offensively. He's not throwing enough one-on-one balls (and his receivers are not helping by dropping the few ones that have come their way), and he's not competing in the middle and downfield. Let the thing fly, young man. It can't get worse than this.
  11. I feel bad for the people who bought tickets to this game. I mean, most Bears games vs the Packers are doomed nightmare, but this…this has gotta be the one you feel the worst going to
  12. A competent administration would fire Eberflus today. At this point the health and development of the QB who is your franchise is at stake and he's repeatedly endangered it. I don't think they will, of course. (Though, who knows, maybe if they get embarrassed in the division might be enough to warrant a midseason fire, of course they didn't do it with Marc "Dr. Death" Trestman). It's baffling to know what went wrong with the offense, exactly. They went into the bye going off 2 extraordinarily good offensive performances, against bums of course, but they were executing and gelling together. They came out of the bye, against a mediocre-to-bad defense and...looked like they never saw a football before. And against two more bad defenses, they proceeded to get worse. How does that happen?
  13. If I was an oddsmaker I’d set the Packers at like -16.5 or something
  14. I had forgotten why I checked out of the Bears for like half a decade. The John Fox years were the dénouement. You can only go through so much sad sack losing before you emotionally disconnect. I remember now.
  15. Obviously the Bears want every excuse possible to retain Eberflus through the end of the season but it’s very possibly they fire him if they lose like 10 in a horsefeathers row
  16. I mean, they've given me the favor of telling me to not pay attention to them the rest of the season. But I wish it weren't so.
  17. We're fast approaching 2005 Kyle Orton territory
  18. The Packers and Lions may put 50 on us
  19. I’m willing to admit when I was wrong: we need to fire Eberflus after this game. The teams quit.
  20. Wow. Williams saw that free rusher and just curled into a ball. He either didn't have an option or (more likely) just completely folded. Thats bad.
  21. Swift has to be ok with getting 1 yard every once in a while and not trying to get a home run every time
  22. Given how bad the vibes are on this team, I feel like forcing a re-kick is asking for disaster
  23. He’s certainly terrible today. And he was mostly bad the last two weeks. i don’t think if that means “he sucks” he’s certainly playing bad and is in a slump.
