Gaudin still not coming back, Dempster to blame
BigSlick replied to ctcf's topic in Chicago Cubs Talk
Gaudin is a really important piece to this team and its a very big blow that he can't pitch for us. For the third best reliever in the pen I'd much rather go to Gaudin with a proven track record than Samardzija, and I'd much rather never see Howry again. (Which would likely happen if Gaudin is...healthy) -
September 10:Cubs (Lilly) at Cards(Looper) 7:15 CT, CSN

at least they are getting closer to winning the last 2 games -
i read somewhere that his floor is higher than Theriot's ceiling thats odd because we've already seen his floor, and it was the 2006 Experience and it was worse than anything theriot has ever done

Week 2: Bears at Panthers - 12 noon CT, FOX
BigSlick replied to CaliforniaRaisin's topic in Other Sports
Dear Soul, I know I put in a really depressive, thought out post in the previous game thread. The Bears must have heard me from the heavens and delivered me to the promised land. They probably will be mediocre or worse this year, but that win was very very satisfying. Thanks for hanging in there -
that sucked 2 hard hit balls to end the inning
-
what i thought was most embarrassing about that was how lazily the second basemen stepped on the bag and threw to 1st because of our catcher's speed
-
wow that was not what i wanted why did that happen
-
get some runs and dont record any outs
-
ok bases loaded no outs score some runs
-
The Cubs stunk the first time through the order yesterday also. Chill out. my like third. post. in. the. thread. no one reads it

Strike one should have been an obvious ball 3, in his defense. However, a major leaguer SHOULD NOT SWING AT A CURVE IN THE DIRT Kinda reminded me of Sosa he used to swing at sliders 3 feet off the plate and in the dirt. Guess every batter (no matter how good he is) thinks "Oh screw it, I'll just swingat anything that comes now" every once in a while. Not someone like Pujols or Bonds I wish people more had the thought in their head "I'm going to force the pitcher to get me out" like a lot of the best batters think

look at their friggin lineup look at it the only way you can give up runs to them is when you do something stupid like hit someone, walk someone and give up a sac fly WHICH YOU DID WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME
-
I want good Marshall again, I miss him so
-

-

Get out of the inning you idiots the reds aren't as lefty dominated as they once was with Dunn and Griffey, its very weird to watch them without those guys
-
How does Edmonds pop up so god damn much? Honestly its his favorite way to get out
-
i can't quote this anymore than I am bench him instead of fukudome honestly
-
Football. I would figure most would be Bears fans, and they don't play till later? They don't, but football season is upon us and it's worth taking the time to watch, imo. I have Falcons-Lions and Jets- Dolphins no thanks
-
ramirez is putting together some awful bad at bats lately
-
i'll keep the optimism and pessimism going on at the same time in this thread
