  1. I ain't accusing you of anything, but what did Patterson, Jacque Jones and Bradley all have in common? I'm as guilty as anyone for complaining about those guys at times (though Bradley not so much, he wasn't even that bad here!) but you gotta connect the dots on significant portions of the fanbase and why they'd be more likely to have problems with those guys 'attitudes'. Anyway, it would be beautiful for the Cardinals to pull a poor management move like they are set to do and trade Rasmus because Tony La Russa has jerkface.
  2. Yeah its really pretty much unimportant. Brenly is a little too bunt-happy for me to really care for him too much, but at least you can tell that he has a pretty solid grasp of things and doesn't tolerate sloppy, lazy play. On the other hand he got out of Arizona pretty quickly after they won the World Series and I never heard exactly what transpired there. You'd think winning a WS would buy more than a few grace period years.

  4. Damn nice to have him under control until through 2013. A lot of people are already bemoaning the fact that we wont be able to re-sign him after the contracts up, but I'm not so sure its a bad thing. Remember, he's someone that came into the league at age 25, and he still has a limited offensive game. Very valuable player to have, but if someone in 2013 comes around and wants to give him starter money and a long deal, I have no problem at all with that.
  5. Well it makes me sad about Demetri Mccamey...he's not a bad guy, he just regressed heavily as a player. I dunno, it happens, he has a very odd mindset, and I don't think Weber is blameless in this as well. Jereme Richmond...well yeah he brought this all on himself. I don't see how it's Weber's fault that McCamey decided in January that he'd done enough to get drafted and then coasted for 3 months. Should he have benched him more? It's hard to hold a coach completely blameless for a guy not being motivated. I'm not saying the majority isn't on Demetri, because at a certain point after 4 years, it's on you, but with the lethargy his teams have shown when not lead by a fiery player like Frazier or Brown, it's worth questioning. I knew when I said "I don't think Weber is blameless" that it would be construed as me laying an inordinate amount of the blame on Weber. Thats not the case. But its clear something is wrong with the whole Weber regime when an off-hand coment from one of McCamey's cousins (..."hey maybe you should drive to the basket more!") has more sway with his playstyle than the friggin head coach.

  7. oh thank god we didn't get Singler
  8. So basically, this off-season (if there is one) will basically be: 1. Go after Howard as hard as possible and failing that, (which is nearly certain) 2. Get a 2 guard with any credentials whatsoever Also contemplate very deeply how much money we have tied to Noah and Boozer for the next 5 years
  9. Dwight Howard is close, depending on how you view defense, what metric you pick
  10. im glad that between the bulls playoff run and the exceedingly low expectations of the cubs this year have distanced myself from caring, because that last 2 games would have infuriated a previous years' 'me' give up 7 runs and lose and not a single one is earned? really? really.
  11. It doesnt matter what the subject is, you can count on Whitlock writing an overly contrarian, bad article about it.
  12. Nice to see the Bulls back to owning. Also nice to see Rose with his burst back. Maybe Bernstein wont proclaim the sky falling anymore
  13. please pound the pacers and have the orlando/atlanta series go 7, thanks god
  14. This playoffs is only 2 days old and its already looking highly competitive
  15. i despised Noah when we drafted him and hated the pick (what another tyson chandler?! god damnit) its completely understandable that every other fan base hates him, but like he says: thats ok, i got my friends
  16. No one else even deserves a vote, honestly. A decent chunk of the media still seems bent on Pops though. Honestly, I'd say Thibs is definitely more deserving of CoY than Rose is of MVP. Well yeah, because Thibs actually deserves his award. Just curious, but who's been more valuable to his team than Rose this year? I just want to point out how much I hate that line of thinking for MVP awards. Do you see it get drudged up in Baseball MVP debates? well sometimes, but by morons. But in general, what difference does it make when Albert Pujols cracks 49 homers for the Pirates of the Cardinals or the Braves of the Yankees? His value remains constant, I don:t care what the nebulous *for his team* nonsense means
  17. that absolutely blows my mind this season has been fun
  18. SCA-LA-BRI-NEE SCA-LA-BRI-NEE
  19. the 'average fan' and people who watch basketball are on such different universes that its not worth the effort to try to draw conclusions from whatever limited relationship they actually have i dont care what Sarah Spain says in the Red Eye
  20. Yeah, no. no there are a ton that think he's going to win the mvp (and he will) but these are not the same things and i guess it needs to be said along with Sponge, i need not count the meatballs that dont really watch basketball anyway Yeah, no. no there are a ton that think he's going to win the mvp (and he will) but these are not the same things There's a ton who think it is. I don't know why we're going to pretend like the average fan isn't going to be That Guy. It's the same whether it's baseball or basketball. who cares about them
  21. there are very few bulls fans that actually contend that derrick rose is the best player in basketball
  22. BTW just saw the highlight of Omer rejecting Kevin Love. My goodness, he took his manhood away.
  23. Determined to make things as annoying as possible, Boozer has a great game without Noah in the lineup. Here comes the articles about how their chemistry is messed up and how there can only be one in this town.
  24. Case in point: Michael Jordan. Tiger, Ali, Ruth, etc., etc.. I'm wary of Pujols because he's so great yet apparently also a great person. He must be hiding something really horrible. Didn't he speak at a tea party rally or something? Or La Russa dragged him to one, which of course makes La Russa that much worse
