  1. I dunno....
  2. Simply laughable to not put a coach with 6 Super Bowl victories into the HOF on first ballot, come on The Football HOF is going to make itself as picky-choosy as the Baseball one
  3. Trubisky making the Pro Bowl was laughable, but his numbers were safely above average in that year. Shadeur, by contrast, has a legitimate case for having the worst season of any QB last season.
  4. A true end to an era. Loved the guy. Sad to hear.
  5. I know the NFL is the "what have you done for me lately" league, but I feel like a lot of Bears fans have been excessively harsh on Odunze. Yeah, his hands have disappointed me a bit, but he was becoming a very good (and really, the favored) option for Caleb until he broke his foot roughly halfway through the season. From like, week 10 on, he basically wasn't available in a real way. And he did everything he could to be available. That means a lot to me. i'm not jumping to any conclusions about him and I'm not declaring him a bust. Let's see what a full season of availability with him and Caleb looks like next year.
  6. its completely down the list of priorities but its maddening that Colston Loveland isn't a finalist for OROY. What a crock.
  7. Brother, I can't tell you how to feel but the future is brighter right now for the Bears than its been since early 2006, post-Panthers loss. It sucks they lost, it sucks they lost a game they easily could have won and had a real, if improbable, path to a Super Bowl. But we have extremely good reason to expect next years team to be even better, and to have prolonged success under Ben and Caleb. Hell, if Ben Johnson is successful, we're gonna lose a lot in the playoffs. Only 1 team gets to hold the trophy at the end. You get as many bites at the apple as you can, and you hope you can snatch a couple. It is what it is. Gear yourself up for it.
  8. Is it really too crazy to extend a serious offer to both Byard and Brisker? I know you don't want to sink too much money into Safeties but man... I really love Brisker. This is why I could never be a Football GM, aside from lacking any meaningful Football Experience or Knowledge. I'm too much of a softie.
  9. Yeah lots I agree with here. I'd be ok with keeping Kmet if he's open to a restructure - it's not for nothing that he knows the system, is still shockingly young, blocks well, etc. You're gonna need to replace him with someone and Smythe I don't think can play that role. I also agree on RB. Swift had a great year but I dunno how much you can expect him to keep it up - I'd love to draft someone that can be a lead back. Monangai rocks but I just don't think he has the size or versatility to be that guy.
  10. Where can I get the meanest motherfuckers at D-End and D-tackle that absolutely wreck the day of my opponents? Are we compelled to overpay for someone like a 29 year old Maxx Crosby? I just want game wreckers. I want guys nobody wants to line up against. If we get a guy like that we instantly become Super Bowl contenders.
  11. I'm not so sure about that. Stafford was under 50% completion percentage and that had a lot to do with the Bears D but not completely, he was off quite a bit on some open guys. I think overall though there wasn't a clear beneficiary to the weather. Our running game wasn't up to the task of exerting its will on the Rams D-Line, so it didn't really help us especially. And it didn't seem to affect the kicking game meaningfully.
  12. how horsefeathers old is Khalil Mack. I need some young horsefeathers athletic specimens who run 4.5s, has multiple moves AND can bull-rush a tackle into the horsefeathers ground. I don't want old scrap heap guys. We have too many of them already.
  13. I saw this on twitter and I have no idea how dependable it is. I'll say: I want Thuney and possibly Kmet but everyone else is expendable.
  14. One thing I'm very confident about is that another year in Ben's system with virtually the exact same offensive personnel will lead to a much more efficient, consistent offense. The rest of the league should be on notice.
  15. Jesus. I wouldn’t have expected it but I suppose at a certain point if you couldn’t get over the hump in the AFC THIS year, somebody’s gotta answer for it.
  16. Hm. https://x.com/BarroomNetwork/status/2013106175311597772?s=20
  17. Thuney was heroic in pass pro but I don’t think they got any push on the left side on run plays. It was a trade off. Ben gambled and it mostly worked.
  18. I have to imagine that’s Moores last snap as a Bear. unless he was hurt, which is very possible
  19. What a helluva season. Jesus. You got a better defensive effort than expected but drops, poor execution on short yardage, and DJ dogging a route was the difference. get some pass rushers and get em next year
  20. So…. dj pulled up short on that route for no reason
  21. We are seeing throws nobody in the NFL has ever made before we HAVE to win this now
  22. It’s so frustrating how we can’t get a single short yardage run
  23. Man this defense is so night and day with a healthy Kyler Gordon
  24. Ouch. That was a bad one. That’s not one you can throw man
  25. The story of this game right now are the drops. if they lose it’s the drops. Caleb is playing a helluva game
