Honestly I'm more concerned about the offense hitting Lackey, short rest and on the road considered, than Hammel having a bad outing. They just haven't been able to figure him out all year, but we'll see. I'm confident they'll hit him and Hammel will be good either way

I hate John Lackey. I hate that the Cardinals can continuously take players whose careers look to be done and turn them into incredibly valuable players. I hate his stupid face, his drooling, vacant look. I hate that he mystifies and confuses our hitters, and makes them look like fools. Humble this man.

Cubs now 77.9% to win the series, 50.2% to win the NLCS and 20.2% to win the World Series (best odds in the NL) according to Fangraph's playoff simulator. Dunno why their stats favor the AL so much in their simulation, but it's pretty surprising (and gratifying) to the see the Cubs so far ahead of the NL pack. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx

Them starting Lackey on short rest seems incredibly silly, especially if they actually want to win the series and not just stave off elimination, they have to win with another pitcher anyway, and having Lackey go with full rest would be the best bet But well, I'm not gonna complain
