  1. I will take 1 Jonathon Lucroy and 1 Shoot David Ross into space, please
  2. Wish we could have gotten a much younger Ben Zobrist but he's still playing his pants off and is a very good player to have on your team. Had to look it up but was shocked to see he hasn't put in an OPS+ under 100 in the past 6 years, he's a damn good player.
  3. It was nice that he got to redeem his 2015 a little bit at the end of the year, and had some nice moments in the playoffs. I never formed the same bond with Castro that most of y'all did because from about 2012 to 2014 I was for the most part tuned out, which was extremely nice. Hope for the best for him out there, but I don't like the sound of the New York media and Castro put together, there might be some gnashing of teeth there. Don't really know what the return is like. Adam Warren seems...decent. Feels like we got a half dozen swing-type guys now with Clayton Richard, Travis Wood, Trevor Cahill and now Warren.
  4. *tries to compute the most contrarian response possible* Ugh. I guess I like it then.
  5. I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the signing, I get it, but feel underwhelmed. With Price getting way out of the range of the what the Cubs were able to offer, Greinke seemingly out of the picture, this was the type of move (and I expect one additional move) they were going to make. Emotionally, it kind of feels like the 2015 trading deadline in that there wasn't much risked but the upside isn't crazy high. (Though if Lackey repeats his 2015, it will massively improve the team, I have no expectation a 37 year old Lackey can do that though.) Winning baseball championships isn't about how my fan emotions respond though. Ah well, keep plugging away at it. At the very least with regards to Price, there wont be a 7 year 200 million dollar albatross type deal at the end like our experience with Soriano. He's gonna be a real ugly mug to root for though.
  6. In-market streaming would be dope because I'm not sure I'll own another tv for the rest of my life Yes, I am the edgy millenial that says I don't own a tv
  7. This picture is really good
  8. I gotta say, given the way we lost, and the way the Mets, who had a lead in all 4 games they lost, and then lost them in heartbreaking fashion, I much prefer getting swept into oblivion. If the Cubs were on the receiving end of the Royals magic clutch garbage stuff, the series might've killed me
  9. I hope this series will make sportswriters write a whole bunch of dumb stuff about contact hitters and strike outs and the Royals Way. Though they just have a really nice group of young hitters, and the Mets have made some really bad defensive plays (Both Alcides Escobar's inside the parker and his triple today should have been caught)
  10. It's really Arrieta and his jacked-Leprechaun thing that moves me on the Kinsey scale
  11. Here's gonna be a bold and maybe stupid prediction: I like Soler's future more than I like Castro's future
  12. well this is the least interesting and least inspired world series match up go royals. go spite. mlb baseball, i live for this
  13. Christ. That really was Epstein-Hoyer's worst move to this point. Hasn't been a crippling move, but it's still hurting the team.
  14. Go Jays (though I fear because they're closer to us then the Royals, the Mets pitching would eat them alive)
  15. I remembered another priority for this team in the off-season: Figure out how to pry David Ross from Lester's clawing hands. Make him a pitching coach or something. He can't play anymore.
  16. For the record: It's mostly a myth that playing Catcher hurts a player's bat and accelerates their aging on offense I'm totally on board with having Schwarber play part-time catcher next year filling in for Montero and see how he handles it
  17. The only thing that would actually bum me out is if they trade Schwarber because they can't find a position for him
  18. I'm still hoping they find a trade partner for Castro because I'm pure evil
  19. Even whatever musing I had about power pitching arms and high contact guys maybe giving a tiny slight edges in the playoffs, its still fundamentally a crapshoot and the main goal is getting in, so if they can field a team that can get in the playoffs repeatedly over the next 5-10 years, that's the best they can do to give themselves a shot. It's possible they'll go all Atlanta Braves on you, but I don't really see a chance for this team to drop out of the playoff race given how much talent and how good the management has been. So if they drop from 97 wins to 93 wins or whatever, who cares.
  20. This season was amazing. Thanks for getting me back into baseball, 2015 Cubs, and thanks for beating the Cardinals in the NLDS, which has provided me with the most gratifying playoff baseball moment in my life. Keep spinning that wheel of fortune boys!
  21. Get me 2 starting pitchers and a good defensive centerfielder that can hit (easier said then done)
  22. Lol I can't believe Hammel melted the [expletive] down even worse than I jokingly said he would [expletive] surreal that we've given up runs in the first inning of every game this series and have never once gotten a lead. What a shellacking
  23. Given Bryant's play at 3rd all series, La Stella has a role on this roster
  24. I sure do look forward to watching Alex Rios hit bloopers off some jackass with long hair Royals - Mets is a game with no rooting interest
