    I watched the first inning just thinking "God I love this team"

    I laughed when I looked at the score because, of course, they blew those early chances and that's just the kind of mad logic this game has. Also the Diamondbacks are annoying as hell.

    this whole "Jean Segura" thing can end whenever the universe wants it to. Its getting annoying.

    While not comparable because of expectations, this *feels* a lot to me like the 2006 broken wrist injury Derrek Lee got roughly the same time into the season. Just a huge gutshot for a dude expected to have a huge year. This team will endure this, probably better than any other team in the league, but this sucks.

    Losing Schwarber to a combo of Soler/Baez more starts for La Stella and all I dont think can cost us more than 1-2 wins. The 2.2 WAR projection for Schwarber may be a bit pessimistic, but I don't think he was going to give us anything approach 5+ WAR, if he gave us the .850 OPS of last year plus minus defense that's roughly what I was expecting for this year. I also may think much more positively of Soler and Baez than some on these boards though.

    I'm very much with David in that I don't feel like this does *too* much for the Cubs overall chances this year, but I feel real bad for Schwarber. And, myself, because I like watching him hit majestic dong shots that send historical rivals back home. I was hoping we were in the clear when they were checking his ankle, but confirmation that they're much more concerned with his knee... :beg:

    Ayyy I really hope Schwarber's injury isn't too serious but the indications are very bad. At least we have a very deep outfield and can sustain it, but I feel bad for that guy. And its nice to see this offense is so relentless that no game is over. How has Lackey looked? Has he just been throwing junk up there or what?
