  1. The amount of offensive incompetence is simply unacceptable At home, no less
  2. Uh well. No. They both have been bad
  3. Can I see Caleb doing ANYTHING here. PLEASE?
  4. Lmao are you gonna let them win? Dont let them win
  5. Oh my god they’re 100% going to score a TD
  6. I’d love to see a holding call ever called on the Saints OLine?
  7. Bears certainly have the capacity to lose this. really bad to give that up here
  8. Caleb just needs to run on some of these plays when he breaks out of the pocket
  9. I don’t know what Caleb is doing out there bad game so far
  10. This is a good “take out the trash” game. Too bad a pretty blah game for Caleb. With any luck nothing too huge happens from here on out. huge game for the defense so far
  11. Oh my god this game is going to drive me crazy i know conditions are horrible but I simply cannot handle so much dysfunction
  12. All this kicker talk may be moot if conditions today resemble that game vs. the Niners in like ‘05 (I’m seeing wind gusts going up to 35 mph right now) I honestly hope conditions are decent enough to see Caleb able to pass at all. Would hate for today’s to be a slop mulligan day where neither team can actually play football
  13. I felt like Santos was very dependable on anything closer than 50 yards. After that he wasn’t dependable at all. Moody has a bigger leg but has historically been wobbly. we’ll see. Hopefully we don’t depend too much on the kicking game
  14. It would be nice to have a safe, handy, victory, but unfortunately I don't think the team is polished up enough yet and the weather is gonna be a mess so this will be a real slopfest
  15. It's a huge indictment of PFF scores. Justin Fields had one of the worst QB performances in the modern era. if your metric puts literally.....anyone under him, there's something very, very wrong with it.
  16. Obviously between the Brewers and the Dodgers I have no special rooting interest, but I will say I hate that the Dodgers strategy of "Spend more money than God" is working for them.
  17. oh my god David Haugh is so horsefeathers annoying This is no different than any ESPN blowhard trying to manufacture a controversy. It's a nothing.
  18. I just feel like the Bears D generating turnovers is the equivalent of a slap hitter having a high batting average with an inflated, unsustainable BABIP. They aren't doing it because they're getting a lot of pressure on the QB (it was slightly better this past week. Slightly) They've just played some bum teams and one team who had a bad night in the rain. I'd love to be wrong, of course.
  19. Johnson's offensive design is clearly top notch. The talent still isn't quite there yet and you can see his scheme is superior and he's making adaptations when things aren't working (the run game is a great example of that) I didn't even really hate the design on the 4th and 1 play, I just don't think Caleb played it super well.
  20. Football has changed crazily in just the past 10 years. The field goals, completion percentages, going for it on 4th down, going for 2, etc. I don't necessarily like where football has gone of late, but QBs are expected (good ones anyway) be far more efficient than we're used to. I don't like seeing decent QBs regularly have 70+% completion percentage games, but its what good ones do. And Caleb isn't at that efficiency yet.
  21. I'm supposed to be mad/disappointed the Bears have a bonafide average quarterback?? (in his second year and first with a new coach) Come on now.
  22. Yeah I'd say 17th is right, maybe a couple spots higher in my eye test. That's fine and where I'd expect him 5 games in with Johnson, provided he continues to improve over the course of the season.
  23. Yeah sadly, its a lot like veteran pitchers getting borderline strike calls. I am convinced the refs on primetime are biased against the Bears, but not because they're consciously rigging the game or anything, but because the Bears are a bad team, with a reputation for being bad, committing penalties, and playing sloppy, and that gets in the ref's heads unconsciously. We've never been in a position with a QB or a coach to get the benefit of the doubt. I don't like that this is how sports works, but it is how sports works. Hear's hoping the Bears string along enough good play that the refs treat them like a normal team.
  24. Yeah this is a game they simply cannot lose. The Saints may be the worst team in the NFC, you can't lose this at home. May be a good opportunity to clean some things up and tighten things up offensively and defensively (and hell, special teams, the kick coverage was really bad last night). I don't want to repeat my over-optimism last year when they hit 4-2 after beating some bad teams and then... what happened, happened. But they have a real opportunity to go on a run here, before they hit the real meat of their schedule. It would be super cool if they did.
  25. There was a ton of bizarre calls against the Bears. There was the “push off” on Loveland that wiped out a nice first down catch. Another weird call when Kmet had a catch. It’s why I don’t really consider this too much of a lucky win for the Bears because there was so much bad officiating going against them.
