    I love Monangai but I don’t think this is that huge. I honestly was starting to get a little concerned at how much they were running him down the stretch in that Jets game: don’t wear the little guy out in a game that was already solidly in hand. Not pleased that my concerns were realized. Hopefully Swift is up to the task and has the fumbling issue in hand, and Roschon Johnson can give us a little something.

    Returning to a 154 game season is such an odd solution I almost don’t know how to think about it. i will say any solution that reduces the meaning and importance of the longest regular season in professional sports to further increase the almost completely random roulette wheel that is the postseason pisses me off.

    RIP to an absolute legend. His whole persona became a whole out-of-control thing after him, but he did one absolutely huge thing: he won a horsefeathers god damn championship for Chicago. Can't ever take that away. Also I feel like his hall of fame career as a tight end gets minimized. Dude revolutionized the position.

    I think the Vikings are the fraudiest 4-0 team in history, but of course, the Vikings do this all the time. They won like 13 games a few years ago with a negative point differential. They just do this.

    It was a very weird fumble. He wasn't touched, he wasn't changing hands with the ball, he just.... sorta lost control of the ball. I've rarely seen anything quite like that.

    It would be so, so funny if the Bears pound Green Bay and they fire LaFleur. I think he's gone if they don't make the playoffs this season regardless.

    Usually Packers week fills me with dread but I feel serene and zen about this whole thing. The Bears are the better team, but they'll be on the road and are starting a risk-prone back-up QB. They could lose the game. They could win the game. Losing would not be devastating for the Bears, it would be a bummer, but hardly anything fatal. Losing for the Packers would be devastating. It doesn't knock them out by any means, but it would be a huge blow to them, and put them in the position of losing 4 of the last 5 meetings, which is generationally unprecedented. The Packers are 45-15 vs. the Bears over the last 30 years. That's almost impossible. I don't think there's a single rivalry in the NFL (or maybe even professional sports) that is that one-sided. It's time to even that up a little bit.

    I think Lovie and co was a very good coaching staff, they just unfortunately never quite found the right OC and definitely never found a QB anywhere near Caleb’s level. Still managed to parlay that into a Super Bowl appearance and 9 years of NFL competence.

    this is meaningless at this point in the season but it is very funny to see the Lions struggle as bad as they have with the easiest schedule in the league

    It's really not worth it to consider the opinion of any Bears fan who unironically prefers Tyson to Caleb. They're <1% of the Bears fan population anyway. Best to be ignored.

    It's safe to say I've been traumatized by 35 years of barely interrupted Packers horsefeathers. My mental health needs the Bears to dominate this rivalry for at least a few years.

    I’m mentally preparing myself for the possibility of a pretty mediocre to bad Packers team getting us on the road with our back up QB. I wish Caleb could be back, but it’s not worth jeopardizing his recovery. Sucks.

    and didn't do anything offensively either nobody is saying the Vikings didn't deserve to win, but the fact of the matter is it was a slopfest where it was impossible to play effective offense.

    Beautiful game. Bagent was very effective but showed his physical limitations: he doesn’t have the arm for some of those throws and perhaps should have given up a couple plays rather than throw it up. Offensive line was dominant. Monangai is my dude. defense wasn’t as good as the stats show, very much bailed out by Geno just being truly wretched. We’re still getting rolled up on in the running game. But, still, they did what they needed to do. Lets hope Caleb can be back.

    Very satisfying run game today. Bagent was for the most part effective but showed arm strength limitation on the pick oh god why now

    Go bears. You gotta win this game, no horsefeathers ups, take care of business vs an inferior foe while at home. Start the season 3-1. Make it happen.

    I feel towards the White Sox what I imagine Green Bay Packers fans feel towards the Bears (at least, until this past year). A sort of pitiable, detached amusement. Why wouldn't I root for them against the team that has ripped my heart from its chest every year for the past like 8 years?

    Romo was becoming a bit of a clown but he at least had more personality than JJ Watt who just Sucks.

    It would be very funny if the Browns got good right after trading Myles Garrett. I don't think they will because i think DeShaun Watson is, still, very bad. I don't care what it looks like now. He's very bad.

    This is a very big deal but when the Bears were getting gashed against the Eagles, Saquon wasn't even being touched until he was 5 or more yards downfield. Then they cleaned it up in the second half. The run defense in general is frustrating - and all the more because we know DA will sometimes sacrifice pass rushing capacity to shore up against the run.... and then they still get gashed. Ah well.

    Hmmm perhaps he could have been getting in football shape weeks ago in the building? Ah well I’m not gonna complain about found money. Glad it looks like he’ll be a contributor this year.
