I really like this signing. At worst he's done, at best, we've added a decent lefty to the pen that we're in need of. EDIT: Jesus he's only 29? I thought he was in his mid-30s with how long we've heard about his trials and travails
Agreed. Even year or not, I don't mind facing the Giants in the playoffs (they're, IMO, a lesser evil to the Mets, Cards or Dodgers in a short series, as little as that may matter) Now, if they acquire Ryan Braun this year as well....hm....
Is it really that odd of a stretch though? Basically shows their pitching has been excellent and when scoring league average runs they would go 7-1 in that stretch I guess if there's a weird thing to it its that the Cubs have had slightly *poor* luck in 1 run games, which is hilarious
I couldn't care less about being no hit or perfect game'd. If we're gonna be CGSO might as well make it enjoyable and interesting. I'm bummed about this particular game being further out of reach than it was like 10 minutes ago more than anything
I'm kind of amused with Dusty Baker's overmanaging working today when he couldn't do anything right in the past series. Sure, steal, do whatever annoying horsefeathers. It doesn't really matter today
Rizzo missed a pretty good pitch to hit on 2-0. I mean, I dunno, its not looking good. EDIT: And now we're playing completely into their hands by making keeping his pitch count low.
I wonder how you feel if your in Hendricks' position here. Like, you might be facing against someone thats totally and completely unhittable, and the best you can do is keep it somewhat close.
Ah. Was gonna say - this is a very dangerous spot for Hendricks, can't really pitch around Harper with a man on first and only one out, and then the defense melts the horsefeathers down Defense hasn't been *great* the last few days
This is one of those nights where if Scherzer is given a generous zone (and it looks like he'll have one) he has a shot at a no-hitter/20 strike out game Only consolation is he's at 40 pitches
