  1. Ross has had a really charmed season and I think its playing with fire to expect him to extend it for another year, to be truly honest. But yeah. Montero has been real bad.
  2. True. But this new guy actually makes the white Sox watchable. He has such an intense "Play by Play Guy Voice"
  3. I'm trying to recall if this team has even had a wire-to-wire shellacking this season and I don't think we have. Even that "worst" loss of the season, 13-5 to the Reds, we had the lead and Lackey and the bullpen just imploded late. I don't think there's been like a 8-0 just pounding from 1st inning to 9th. It may not be possible against this team. Anyway, musings from one of those poor souls that doesn't forget.
  4. I'm laughing so much over this James Shields start Boy did we catch a break not picking this dude up in the past few years
  5. I'm gonna assume the game he's trying to reference was the game that the Cubs led most of the way, Lackey gave up the tying dinger, and then in the bottom of the 9th Adam Warren gave up a golfball to get walked off on. It was the last time the Cubs lost in that "bad" stretch (wasn't that bad) and then they reeled off like 8 in a row. I remember all this because I'm an insane person.
  6. Nice! Thanks for the info. This also confirms my own gut judgment of Adam Warren, that being, he's pitched pretty well and he gave up some inopportune golf balls. It happens. I like him a lot.
  7. Oh man this is the best thing I've read all day
  8. lol at Clayton Richard dutifully earning a run there I almost feel bad for Richard because not only has he been bad, but he's had horrific luck on ground balls. I mean, he's gonna get DFA'd regardless, but his poor performance has only been compounded by bad luck.
  9. Fools, do not complain about this use - lets make sure he's not available the next time the game is in question
  10. Alright Joe, this is the perfect use of Clayton Richard right here
  11. Baez has raised his average from .248 to .274 in this game alone haha
  12. Heyward has been so much better and hitting the ball with authority this past week or so.
  13. I'm upset that Fowler hasn't gotten a hit today solely for the reason that I want to see his beautiful sterling .300 AVG continue. Aesthetics, baby
  14. It's more that he's having bad ABs up until the point that he gets a hit. Some bad swings early in counts. It seems like every at bat goes like this: 1st pitch down the middle, taken for a strike. 2nd pitch, swing wildly at something out of the zone. Then the at bat starts.
  15. I mean, Duke Silver is right in his article - Javy has no approach, and seemingly very little pitch recognition. But the man is superhumanly talented, and he's getting better at fouling off crummy pitches instead of just flailing at them. If we 're lucky we have Alfonso Soriano + absurd defense on the infield on our hands. If not we still have a very valuable baseball player on our hands.
  16. This is the "get fat Cubs hitters" day. all of a sudden
  17. Cubs have gotten the lead batter on in seemingly every inning this game This feels a lot better than yesterday, for sure
  18. This Phillies offense is hot garbage, to be totally honest
  19. I doubt very much Maddon would sit Russell for more than a game or two here and there no matter how badly he's slumping
  20. Lost in all this is Lackey cruising. He's got 7 innings in him easy.
  21. Whoever was asking if Freddy Galvis was the most annoying person on their team: Let that be confirmation
