    The bears have been so bad and embarrassing for so long that I’ve successfully stopped caring about them or football in general The 2005-2012 stretch or so, where we were usually fairly competitive beguiled me in, and I’ll probably not go back (I say, but if they win 10 games I may be drawn back in who knows whatever)

    There was a study that Bernstein cited that people who follow sports are less happy than people who don’t, even those who follow winning teams. Basically, the negative feelings from a loss, on average, outweigh the positive feelings from a win. It’s not true for everyone but true for sports fans on the whole. Anyway, I found that interesting.

    haha never mind I didn’t even check the lineup and was reading insane comments A mediocre stretch of baseball does a lot for our brains

    the royals can't score runs, they really can't, they have a pitiful 85 OPS+ as a team, and currently have no active player with an OPS over 800 - The Golden God Jorge Soler was their best hitter but he's now on the DL. So that means only 1 of 2 things will happen: They will erupt to have multiple 10 run games, or the Cubs will shut them out 3 games in a row and the starting pitching will look amazing
