that fangraphs article on lester assuaged some of my concerns - i'm glad to hear there are actual reasons why things are different for him this year and that his two most successful pitches are just really successful. and also he's gotten very lucky with babip and hr/fb% i think its highly likely he'll continue to have a strong season, but probably not *as* strong. anyway i just jinxed him, so he'll suck tonight

There's literally no way to predict in the playoffs. You could throw a 62-100 team into the playoffs and they'd have like, a decent shot at winning the World Series. It's almost a complete crapshoot.

I have to chant a mantra that the Cubs are still 9 games over .500 and even at their lowest (god willing) point they're still well their lowest point last year Getting swept in 4 by the horrid Reds sucks and the Cubs suck on the west coast, so it sucks. but they'll be fine
