I don't know, 48 plate appearances means like, nothing to me. I'm sorry. The fact his OPS went *up* in "Medium Leverage" in 2015 and 2017, and factoring in his 2015 and 2016 Playoff mastery tells me that...it's not a psychological thing. There are lots of ways I think this team are a collection of gutless choking dogs but I can't really regard this stuff as more than a statistical curiosity.
ASSUMING a brewers sweep to close out the season is a level of doom bonering I’ve never seen before. I’m oppressively pessimistic and masochistic, and even I can’t do that In other news, glad to see the cubs put some god damn runs on the board
that wouldn't be crushing enough, they'll win just enough games to not win the division anyway, in real talk, if they win tonight and the pirates lose, we're like, totally ok. as frustrated as i am *during* the games, i'm pretty serene right now
This kind of offensive production is fuckin shameful Do the Pirates have some sort of fuckin knowledge on the Cubs? Like, this is almost inexplicable how bad the Cubs hitters are
its mostly the injuries and disappointing progress from young players I think. Almost nobody is playing *better* than they have in recent years, with the extremely notable exception of Javy. (You could argue Schwarber I suppose, but he's smack dab in the middle of what reasonable projections are for him) Also the games are miserable because they give up runs in the first inning in 80% of games
