  1. He should be fired today. But if not, he should be fired on Friday.
  2. I was so outrageously mad at the end of the game partly because it was so damn *predictable* when it was 28-14 and you could start seeing the script play out. It was also against the Broncos, with the famous Marion Barber stay-in-bounds game. It all was too damn perfect. At the end of the day....the anger faded and what can you do. This team is garbage, and when your team is bad, its better to lean into being *more* bad than to just be middling. But it sucks to see Fields so demoralized, and it double sucks to have him have a sterling game get marred by two mistakes (with each arguably not entirely his fault), but....another disturbing game where Fields has the opportunity to win the game in the end and he is unable to do so. At a certain point, I hate to say it, that becomes a meaningful thing.
  3. It's not inconceivable that Fields turns it around and puts together a few good games, and suddenly the season feels, like, wayyyyy less Doom and Gloomy. Unlikely, maybe, and the trend lines are going in the wrong direction, but its definitely not *inconceivable*. I think the thing I'm most disappointed in is the coaching, honestly. I was just as optimistic as anyone else about Fields and thus, as crushingly disappointed with his start as anyone else, but man. I think we've seen enough of the coaches to know that they have no idea what the hell is going on, even if they're put in a tough position by the talent on the roster.
  4. I've come out of my self-imposed exile (I couldn't remember what e-mail address I registered this account on) to say: Boy, the Bears really horsefeathers suck huh
  5. I think it’s a shame the game virtually ended on that call, I don’t think it completely and totally swung the game, KC was definitely the better team and had momentum on their side, but it’s a shame the game has to end on that. It also robbed us of a fun ending drive for dramas sake. It was also a fairy physical game up to that point, not a lot of flags thrown in general, so it really stuck out that one was throw there. Ah well. Great game otherwise. The ads were overall pretty disappointing.
  6. Yeah that run of years was super weird and annoying because there was a ton of annoying Cutler Discourse to also get through. Poor Lovie though, still the best coach of my lifetime (well I guess technically I was around for Ditka but I was a wee baby) and really just got some bad luck down the stretch. And we had to suffer through....like 4 terrible coaches after him? Hopefully we got it right with Eberflus now, the early signs are encouraging.
  7. god horsefeathering bless it took 35 [expletive] years but we'll be free of green bay domination soon enough if there is anything good and holy in the universe the packers will experience 40 years of qb hell. its the least they deserve for their blessed existence
  8. All people who love freedom and justice are pulling for the Lions right now. Come on....put a dagger in Rodgers and send him from Green Bay in defeat, please for gods sake
  9. The biggest surprise about this year so far is how useless Claypool was. If he's a zero thats.....thats a pretty big miss by Poles. I have no excitement about anyone returning from the receiver corps except for Mooney. Everyone else has been so, so bad. Of course Claypool has an offseason to get healthy and learn the playbook but....my doomboner over him is overwhelming. Very happy to be wrong, of course.
  10. It's absolutely not worth thinking about this kind of thing. Just revel in the joy of our GM having an insane dream scenario: unlimited money and unlimited draft capital. He can do whatever he wants with the team. So if he's good, thats great. If he's bad, well, we'd be bad anyway and he can display it all in one year.
  11. I have to say, at this exact moment, this is the worst Bears team I've ever seen. I've watched the Bears roughly from 2001 to now, and yes, on mere athletic talent and execution - at week 18 of the 2023 season....this is the worst one I've ever seen.
  12. This is all well and good but....how much is this gonna cost and where's the money gonna come from? They're gonna build a CTA-Metra hub across the street from the stadium AND renovate Soldier Field? How many billions is that gonna cost?
  13. what exactly are a 'nathan peterman' or a 'tim boyle'?? Surely these are not professional footballmen. i can only pray our suffering this year leads to a beautiful bounty next year.
  14. The runs up the middle on 3rd and 5 almost ended my life. I was so furious that he did that.
  15. I know he hasn't had an off-season with the system and it's kind of unfair to judge him mid-season but I'm getting real bad vibes on the Claypool trade. He just....looks very bad out there when you even get a chance to see him play. Hopeful that I'm wrong and jumping to conclusions on this one, but it would hurt real bad to trade the 2nd or 3rd pick in the 2nd round for a guy who just ain't that good. It's probably day-of overreactions about another game I thought we'd be able to hold onto (despite not really caring what our record is at the end of the year) but man it's feeling daunting what Poles is going to have to do over the off-season to make this a competitive team. Need so much help to make this a playoff team. They have unlimited resources to get there, but it means being right and out-competing other teams for FA talent they're going to need. In a way that's exciting for Poles, he gets to rebuild the roster with nearly unlimited freedom. But he's got to hit on everyone from here on out. So, we shall see.
  16. Well barring an injury that was the worst way for this to end Damn that sucks. You hate to see it
  17. I’m ok with this. If Fields can go and snatch this game, that would do a lot for me (as a meatball) and for him.
  18. So the only way the bears can win now is if Fields has a game winning drive So be it
  19. I’m actually happy they missed the field goal: that kind of cowardice on 3rd down needs to be IMMEDIATELY punished
  20. UNACCEPTABLE TO RUN ON 3RD AND 5
  21. I HATE AARON RODGERS SO MUCH YOU GUYS I CANT PUT IT INTO WORDS
  22. Get this Rodgers bum off the screen, I want to watch Justin Fields
  23. I'll give the refs this : They aren't being annoying and stupid with pass interference calls - they're letting them play and they aren't giving Rodgers whatever he whines about Rodgers looks flummoxed and they aren't even getting to him in pass rush
  24. Wow. I guess I shouldn't have said anything. We aren't allowed to have anything nice huh? First of all - that's not a fumble. But also, the guy we trade our 2nd round pick for....sucks and may be dead. Terrible.
