  1. God, I had to just not listen or think about this game shortly after it ended. Just a completely backbreaking loss that is thankfully snuck into a lost season anyway. I also think the discussion focusing on the QB or on this or that decision obscures what should be the bigger stories in the game. Complete coaching ineptness being at the top of the list. The in-game coaching was so dire it doomed what was a for-sure-completely-locked-up-game. Even handing all you can to Goff and co - this isn't a game you should be allowed to lose when you're up 12 with 4 minutes left. It just shouldn't be allowed to happen. Coaches have been fired for less and EBERFLUS HAS LOST GAMES OF THIS CALIBER TWICE THIS SEASON. But those PFF grades remind me...what was Braxton Jones pulled for and why was he so mad on the sidelines. Did we ever figure that out?
  2. This loss is 95% on the vaunted defense not even being able to force the Lions to take 3 minutes to score 2 touchdowns and on horrific time management by Eberflus. It’s 5% on the offensive line collapsing at in opportune times, especially in the run game.
  3. For the record, I think Fields played really really well, and if he plays at this caliber for the rest of the season you have to give serious thought to keeping him as your starter.
  4. Just like the Denver game. That’s a game that’s almost impossible to lose, and yet somehow you did it. all you can hope is you get losses like this out of your system before 2024
  5. Oh no, you throw the ball on that 3rd down, but not all 3rd down throws are created equal. Even when a guy is streaking open down the field, throwing 30+ yards downfield is just always a bit dicier than something closer to the marker.
  6. Because even a perfect pass is a low percentage play
  7. Absolutely HORRIFIC TIMR MANAGEMENT BY THE BEARS
  8. They’re gonna lose aren’t they. Lol. Lol.
  9. I dunno I mean… maybe it’s in Scott but I still can’t imagine throwing that when all you want is a first down
  10. ????????? why would you ever do that
  11. Well. It’s on Fields now. Get a couple first downs and the games over.
  12. Uhhhhhh that’s exactly what you’re not supposed to let happen
  13. All the Bears have to do now is make the game as short as possible and not give up quick scores or turn it over go and do it
  14. That was a strange ghost call on Detroit? not complaining, but it took my excitement out of Fields scramble because I thought for sure it was coming back
  15. A long drive resulting in any kind of score wins the game. So. Do that
  16. A sack??? On a third down??? On a blitz??? That gets there??? I legitimately can’t process that information
  17. ??? Is the defense literally non existent if they aren’t getting turnovers? It can’t be that bad
  18. I shouldn't be too mad right now - the Bears are a bad team. But they have genuinely outplayed the Lions to this point. And this is the kind of game that the Lions could run away with after half, particularly because they get the ball. But I'm, overall, pretty happy with how Fields has played. He's making some of his typical mistakes - but he's also playing very well in extremely hostile conditions while clearly suffering from his hand. It would be awesome if the Oline elevated and the running game helped him out - things would be so much easier.
  19. I suppose we’re seeing the outcome of moving Jenkins from the right side which was working awesome
  20. it’s completely baffling to me how the bears are down now but so it goes. Also they’ll almost certainly be down two scores by the time they get the ball again the football gods get angered when you squander turnovers. You get punished for not scoring off them
  21. They need to give him something easy to hit on a blitz - I'd have to watch again to see if someone was there, but bleh This is about worst case scenario though for that 3rd down - no clock runs and the Lions get a chance for a back-to-back
  22. I would not run on 1st down until something changes in the Lions alignment. It ain't working God, Fields's balance turns that from a 1 yard gain to a 5 yard gain. It's cool to be reminded of just how physically talented this dude is.
  23. damn that as nifty throw to Mooney - a rocket on the run while moving away from defenders thats the type of play that makes Fields potentially special
  24. Maybe? The offensive line isn't giving him any favors right now - and Detroit is not letting us run on early downs. They need to play action and execute a bit to make them back off. I actually like how Fields is playing at the moment - warts and all. He can't factor in his wide receiver inexplicably fumbling.
  25. Good lord. I guess we have to remember the team is Bad. WHat the hell man
