  1. Runs/Game for the entire league seems like a false way of judging that though. I mean from what we've heard, there were a number of pitchers juicing too....shouldn't they be balancing out the juiced up hitters?
  2. That Monsters has gone away and sportsrise has returned? Ha. The David Hernandez missing thing. Though I'm sure they'll break into Iran coverage to cover the Monsters/Sportsrise change should it occur.
  3. This is the top story on Foxnews.com right now.
  4. I hope Monsters in the Morning goes away, and they bring back SportsRise for those hours in the morning.
  5. Baltimore has been mentioned also. They won't care that it's the Bears unless Marshall has a great season catching passes from Cutler. It's like they can say "good riddance" to Cutler right now, but after a season of Orton/Simms, they may feel a bit differently. Maybe I'm giving the Broncos too much credit...maybe they don't have the foresight to see potential PR issues down the road...I'll just be surprised if the Bears end up with Marshall. And honestly, after that Paige article, I'm not sure I really want the guy. He's a habitual offender...I guess I didn't realize just HOW habitual. Plaxico is an angel in comparison.
  6. Now if Woody Paige is correct (and I know he is Denver's version of Jay Mariotti, Skip Bayless, or some random idiot), I think most Denver fans would have no problem dumping the "diva." http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12597316 I know it is a Woody Paige article, but some of these "incidents" that Marshall have been involve with has me thinking twice about trying to acquire him. I would not part with anything higher then a 4th rd pick for this "diva." Right now, I think I prefer Plax over Marshall. I'm not saying they won't trade him. I'm saying they won't trade him to the Bears because of the awful PR potential of Cutler and Marshall both having a chance to succeed, together, on another team.
  7. So much Cutler hate out there.... http://www.cbssports.com/columns/story/11861995?tag=untagged
  8. It was a question, not a statement. Your answer is clearly "no". It certainly didn't look like a question. "I have to think that everyone" sounds like a strong declaration. Fine, I phrased my question poorly then. My point was that I think there will be a lot of people that will think that way. Maybe there won't be as many as I thought. 61 is the number in my mind. Clearly it's not in SSR's. Ok then... Lets not parse the verbiage.
  9. It was a question, not a statement. Your answer is clearly "no".
  10. Are you kidding me? Everyone that is a legitimate baseball fan? This is more dumb than the "true Cubs fan" nonsense you hear about those who really deserve the honor of being called a fan. What the hell is a legitimate baseball fan? I just meant someone that follows the game more than casually. That can name a few of the major "hallowed" records. I wasn't trying to be all high and mighty about it. Just that there are people that might say they're a Cub fan, and might have a hat and/or t-shirt, and may have even been to Wrigley, that couldn't name more than 3 players that aren't on the Cubs, and have no idea who Roger Maris is. Take out the word "legitimate" if that's a sticking point. It's not important to what I was trying to say.
  11. There's no doubt about that. As long as you believe Maris wasn't popping the greenies.... I'm far less bothered by greenies than the cream and the clear. I think this is the common reaction. Greenies are somehow far more acceptable in baseball to fans and media.
  12. I don't think there's any way that the Broncos trade Marshall to the Bears. That's all bad for them. If Cutler and Marshall together just start lighting things up, the Broncos are going to forever have to deal with the talking heads ripping them for sending two young talented guys to the Bears. What if the Bears win a Super Bowl with them? Just from a PR standpoint, that move would be terrible for the Broncos. I don't see it happening.
  13. I didn't want to start a thread for this, so I'll post it here. Might be my favorite Lou quote ever....
  14. The record books will never be changed, but I have to think that everyone that is a legitimate baseball fan at this point has to regard the home run record as 61 again at this point, right?
  15. That's sort of a funny post. It states that Angelo (or someone else) called Rosenhaus. It doesn't necessarily read that the topic of conversation was Burress. Maybe all they did was discuss how inexplicably smoking hot Megan Fox is. Twitter is apparently changing sports reporting now, making it even more bits & pieces and even less comprehensive & solid. That twitter bit is just from Brad Biggs column today saying that the Bears are one of 4 teams to call Rosenhaus.
  16. I have mixed opinions about this.
  17. I have to believe they are talking about not playing games during that period of time. With many teams already taking 4 days off for the ASB, it would not be hard for them to take 6 days. But not televising games that are actually played seems like a horrible option. Great. We'll end up with a World Series ending the same week as Thanksgiving. I realize you're being sarcastic here, but we're only talking about 6 days here. Put 2 at the beginning of the season, 2 at the end, and eliminate an off day or two somewhere in the season.
  18. That's not really comparable. Looks more comparable than you may have initially thought. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/chi-sec-chicago-sports-webio-jun15,0,4162544.story
  19. If Derosa keeps hitting like this, he's not gonna be cheap to reacquire.
  20. Not since around 3:00 yesterday...thanks for bringing it up again.
  21. I don't see why the Jets would do a Marshall deal if Plax is still available. Why would they give up actual talent when they can get Plax for just the cash?
  22. I'm sure North Dakota's first championship is coming any day now. ;) What about NCAA hockey? They've won it haven't they? Hold on, lemme check my NCAA hockey recordbook. Where is that thing? I know I left it right around here somewhere.....
  23. Well yes, with the benefit of hindsight that's a much easier conclusion to come to... Really? You don't understand how someone that thinks that North is shrewd would be surprised when he made a terrible business decision? WSCR offered him a renewal contract of $700-900k, so it's not like he was unhireable. Yeah, that was the question I originally asked! lol My whole point was that maybe he's not quite as shrewd as he once was, or at least as he may have appeared. Because this clearly was a pretty poor decision.
  24. I don't see Denver ever trading him here after already having sent Cutler here.
  25. I'm sure North Dakota's first championship is coming any day now. ;)
