    True, but college sports kids missing school happens all the time. Some guy on the Score this morning was talking about Bowling Green hockey team having to go to Alaska to play 2 games. And one of the games they play is on a Sunday night, so they can't fly out until Monday. He said you have to figure about 3 days worth of travel in addition to 2 days of playing. So yeah...missing class for sports is nothing new at all for college sports...even less popular ones than mens basketball. But they already miss class, this would mean missing more class. Well, like soapy said, it's definitely the best argument against the expansion. But that's not really the issue most people are bringing up when they are opposed to it.

    Revenue. Booster donations are way down because of the economy, so schools need to pay for sports programs how they can. Basketball is one of the few college sports that actually make money, so they need that revenue to pay for other sports. This gets more revenue to more schools, and doesn't negatively affect the teams involved in the tournament in any way. Well I'm sorry that the NCAA didn't realize they needed to fulfill your requirements of what benefits needed to be met, but I think "more revenue without much in the way of negatives" was sufficient for them.

    I'm hoping it won't be Anderson, except situationally. But I suppose that could be a hollow hope. Well it's gonna be Anderson or Idonije.

    I really don't like this. I was hoping the Peppers signing would help the defense take a step forward, but if all he is is a replacement for Ogunleye, Brown and Gaines, I really don't think they are better. I'm still hoping that Peppers helps Harris out, but yeah...releasing him was dumb.

    Not saying you're wrong, but then why wouldn't someone trade for him at the cheaper price?

    So Brown is as good as gone. Again though: I can't see a reason a team would trade something away for Brown when they know he'll be available soon for just the cash. Maybe if there were several suitors competing, none of whom wanted to get beat to the punch. But in this case, I don't see that. Brown isn't going to be a life-or-death acquisition for anyone. I imagine they figured they would have to release him, but they probably really like Brown, and they realize that if they release him, he's going to be signing for less money elsewhere...so they're trying to do right by him by at least attempting to trade him, so he can keep that salary. Maybe if they release him they could re-sign him for less money?

    Agreed. Silva is garbage, but I'm not as down on Gorzelanny as I've seen others be.

    Was that the last game of the 4-game sweep right at the end of July where the Cubs won in a blowout? my favorite regular season series of all time. it topped the 5 game set against the cards in 2003 That was a great series, but it doesn't top the 5 game Cards set for me.

    What do you mean by "anything" though? Is a 6th rounder enough? 5th?

    Last time the Bears thought that Mark Anderson was better than Brown, they started Anderson and ended up going back to Brown. Brown can still play. This is a bad idea.

    Ok....yeah had bad info there...I misread one of the articles that included info about the 1994 kickoff rule change. Oops. There needs to be a "strikethrough" option on the forum so I can go back and cross that out... :blush:

    I disagreed with you a lot yesterday, but I'm with you completely here. Bears games on Sunday afternoons are much, much more fun.
