rotoworld says Blount backed out of the deal with the 49ers. but that doesn't answer my question. did he verbally say he would sign with them and then decided not to or has he already signed and now he wants out? the first may be slightly concerning (if at all), but it's not the huge deal Bum is making it out to be. PFW says he never signed the deal with the Niners...he just had "agreed to terms". I think Blount is a tool, but I don't blame him for making this decision.

This may not be important to some, but Pat's funniest moments are when he's zinging Ron about something, or being self-deprecating. I'm not sure he can really do that by himself. I don't think Ron is going anywhere until a) he doesn't want to do it anymore, or b) his health won't allow him to do it anymore.

Ok, the B-Hawks are making me a hockey fan. Went to Buffalo Wild Wings last night, and the Cubs were on one tv, and Pitt-Ottawa was on the other, and I gotta tell ya, I was watching the hockey game more than I was watching the Cubs...(I was watching plenty of Cubs too, but still...) That game yesterday was amazing. Such highs and lows. I scared the bejeesus out of my 3yo when they tied that thing. -

40,000.00 posts would seem to indicate otherwise. Jon's posting frequency has dropped very, very significantly in the past couple of years. Those 40,000 posts weren't spaced evenly.

Lou's given up already. I think he's trying to get fired. I don't think he wanted to manage this year, but wanted the paycheck. And when things started off bad, he thought "well lets get this [expletive] over with".

That's the way I was thinking too, but the original report was talking about "not a blockbuster but a decent move"....I'm just not sure that qualifies. But I'm definitely rooting for that.

Weren't the results of the rape kit from the hospital inconclusive? Maybe she had sex willingly and then decided later that it was a mistake and claimed rape. The DA said there wasn't enough evidence to charge him with a crime, right? Roethlisberger seems like a grade A scumbag, but if that's enough to warrant a 6 games suspension then the NFL might have to look into replacement players in order to prevent cancellation of games. There wasn't enough evidence because the cops screwed up. The cop that investigated Ben was forced to resign. Anyway, this is why the "conduct detrimental to the league" policy exists. Ben messed up, and got lucky by not getting charged. Goodell is showing him that's not gonna fly.

See, now on the other hand, I get really sick of reading everyone's updates on their personal progress on sports games. I could care less if someone is hitting .350 on their AA player on a video game. I play the game, so I understand how you can get caught up in it, but that doesn't mean others care. If there was to be a separation, and I'm not entirely sure there should be one, I think having a "Sports Video Game thread" and a "Non-sports video game thread" would be the way to go. When the MLB season is over, the amount of discussion on MLB The Show is going to drop significantly (though maybe not completely given the nature of the message board). It'd be good for the Madden, NCAA, and other sports seasons to be included in that thread as well. You'd still have to sort through some stuff, but it would be a lot less, and those of us that don't want to read about that as much would have an option as well. And it would only add one thread. Thoughts?
