  1. Who was it that reported Castro's promotion was imminent? Bruce Levine said it could happen "at any point." I haven't seen anything from Sullivan on it. Some dude from ESPN Deportes reported it first via Twitter....then everybody else grabbed it. Yeah, Enrique Rojas first reported that he was called up. I thought gooney was referring to an earlier column reporting "sources" saying that Castro's call-up was eminent. That's why I posted that link and mentioned Levine. Oh...maybe he was...
  2. Drop the pretense. The joke has been made. It's old. Moving on.

  4. Yep, consider that it's Sullivan. It's the only thing that gives me hope.
  5. Paul Sullivan asks and answers some questions with regards to this move... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/05/castro-decision-brings-many-questions.html Not only would they demote Wells, which is dumb in and of itself, but they wouldn't use Zambrano to replace him? What a [expletive] bunch of people we have running this organization.
  6. Looks like the defense they're gonna try to go with was that they didn't have "sex"....just "Clinton sex"...
  7. Apparently that doesn't matter for statutory rape though....it matter what age she is...not what she said she is. I think LT only gets off w/ a solicitation charge. Sounds like he didn't beat her. Doesn't sound like he forced her to do anything. I think because he did hire a hooker, he should reasonably expect that the girl was over 18. I think it all falls back onto the pimp for putting a girl under 18 in that situation. Kind of like if you have sex w/ a girl you meet at a 21-and over nightclub. If she is really 16, then I don't think the guy is responsible because he had reason to believe she was over 21. If not, that is on the club for letting her in without proper ID. Yeah....the solicitation charge is obvious, and I doubt he'd even fight that.
  8. If that were true then no team ever outplays an opponent. Sure they do. But that doesn't mean they'll win. Vancouver outplayed the Blackhawks for game 2 and most of game 3, in my estimation. I know I'm overstating it by saying "always," but lucky has a far higher impact in any given hockey game than skill, unless one team is just hopelessly better than the other. Game 2 I agree....but while Van outplayed Chi in the first 10 min or so of game 3, after that, I think it was all Chicago.

  10. I still like the Hawks tonight because I think the Canucks are mentally a mess at this point. All of the articles talk about them changing how they play, which I don't think is a good thing for them. They won game 1 because they made the Hawks play their game, not because they tried to play the Hawks game. If they try to play the "Hawks style" of play, I think the Hawks win it.
  11. I'm seeing where she said no to the pimp, but not to Taylor...of course we aren't getting the full facts.
  12. The article is a backhanded compliment to Buff though...he gets some digs in, but really is impressed with Buff's play.
  13. in the sharks-red wings series, the favorite is prevailing. actually in every series the favorite is leading right now. you overreacted to the wings playing a great game against the 'yotes. they were fantastic in game seven obviously, but the rest of that series they weren't all that great and they haven't been better than the sharks. yes, if the red wings play their absolute best in every game they will win the stanley cup. but that doesn't happen. First...Sharks are the best team remaining no question. second....all three games this series have been very close. Very easily could be 2-1 either way. Do they get special t-shirts or something for getting swept as long as the games are all close? "We lost, but not by much!"
  14. None of that is relevant to the statement I quoted above. Being the favorite doesn't mean "not exactly getting slaughtered". Anyway, I really wasn't trying to be an ass and rub it it in.... Well ok, maybe a little. :)
  15. Ok, so I'm a pretty new hockey fan with these playoffs. I'm not complaining about this at all, but why was that last goal not goalie interference? If you're allowed to push the goalie into the net, why wouldn't everyone do that?
  16. Boooo late game. I really wanted to get good sleep tonight...lol.
  17. News Flash: Ben is a sleazy, arrogant [expletive]. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/05/05/si-story-on-roethlisberger-features-several-new-details/
  18. Well, that doesn't excuse his awful football opinions... But yeah, I get that they think they should be taken care of better...and I see that point...I won't begrudge him that. But he brings that bitterness into every football related thing that he does, and that's not going to endear him to anybody. It's not the current players fault that the NFL doesn't pay better pensions.
  19. That's a crappy reason. The cheapest player on the Cubs makes more this year than Ernie Banks probably ever made in a year, but you don't see Ernie getting all pissy. It's "Kids these days" syndrome....
  20. Sayers needs to shut his mouth and go pose for pictures. He's so bitter toward players today it's ridiculous.
  21. I'm singing Chelsea Dagger with a broken heart today. da...da da da...da da daaaa...da da da da da da da... I heard about that yesterday. Somehow, I think all of those guys will manage. Looks more like they're taking a break but will likely play together again down the road.
  22. No, I don't. Everybody and their mama's would had made the move on behalf of the Bulls. So it's not as if Krause "found" Rodman, SA gave him to the Bulls. So what credit is there to be had when another team essentially hands you a player? I'm late the conversation, and I might regret bringing this back up, but how about the move that made Purdue expendable? Stacey King for Luc Longley?
  23. Tribune this morning said Tuesday was likely as well.
