  1. The Saints were "lucky" to play the Seahawks too.
  2. Whoa...that's painting it in a pretty light. Out of 9 playoffs since the reorganization, 5 have included a #2 seed with 11 wins or fewer. True (and I think I was wrong and there have been 6 of them now including the Bears). But if you're an 11-5 team you still have to be in the right conference, in the right division, in the right year. Just like the Cubs can't plan to win 85-88 games and expect to win the division, it's a break when you get a bye going 11-5 because it doesn't happen to most teams that win that many games. No...it's not a break, because the tiebreakers account for head to head matchups, beating teams in your division, conference... It's not like you put all the 11-5 teams in a hat and pick one. That'd be luck.

  4. Just to back you up here, it's the 4th time in the last 7 years that an 11 win or less team has gotten the 2 seed in the NFC.
  5. Not sure why this thread is still alive.
  6. Heh...the Trib has an article about the Blackhawks following the Bears...I thought this was good stuff.... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/blackhawks-begin-to-feel-familiar-vibe-with-bears.html
  7. Heh...more of the Milwaukee market was tuned into the Bears game this past week than Seattle's market. I suspect it's because Milwaukee probably has a fair number of Bears fans, but still...
  8. Same. But I was that way against the Saints too. I was so focused on that game that it didn't hit me till afterwards that we were going to the freaking Super Bowl.
  9. I'm sure GB can find reasons that their losses shouldn't count either, though. And either way, it doesn't matter. I hate stats like this. We're going back as 2004 head to head records to find out WHAT exactly about this game? It means nothing. The sample size also means nothing. Yeah...Week 3 doesn't even mean a lot to me at this point since so much has changed. I expect the game to look a lot like Week 17. Except I don't expect the Bears to give up on a successful running attack this time around. And I expect Gould to make his field goals.

  11. Right on. I knew you were working on it, so figured any error reporting could only be helpful. :)
  12. Man, the SBNation blog for GB is terrible. There's an article about Kellen Davis saying the Bears would win, where he calls Davis "one of Chicago’s biggest disappointments". Come on...he's the 3rd freaking TE in a TE group that's been doing mostly blocking. Then there's an article talking about the "matchup" between Charles Woodson and Charles Tillman. Um...they both play defense...there's no matchup to talk about. I mean, they say great things about Tillman, which is fine and all...but I just think it's completely pointless to talk like they're going to be going head to head or something. They bash the Bears stats in the Seattle games because of 8 penalties, a -1 turnover margin...which they don't mention occurred when our RB threw a freaking pass while we were up by 25 in the 4th quarter....and then they say "WR Devin Hester only 30 yards total on punt returns, which was amazing considering the Seahawks punted nine times." Yeah...cuz they were totally kicking right down the middle to him and stuff...
  13. NFL Replay of Sea@Chi is Thursday at 1pm eastern. Friday night at 1am eastern, NFL network is replaying Chi vs GB from 11/03/85: Saturday afternoon they are doing NFL Replays of both GB games from this season.
  14. This could be part of the reason. And now the Rams hired McDaniels. Ha! They must've paid up.
  15. Had a feeling that was gonna happen. Good call NFL/Fox.
  16. It's weird the way that press release mentions the Gorzelanny deal but never mentions the trade.
  17. I just got back on the site a few min ago. There was a good 15 min there (beginning maybe 30 min ago) that I couldn't get to NSBB or 312sports.com. No error, but only cuz I didn't let it clock long enough to get one.
  18. Seattle fires Jeremy Bates. The Bears were interested in him for OC last year right? Cuz he had a connection with Cutler? Looks like we might've gotten lucky there. Surprising firing.
  19. I'm saying Bears-Steelers.
  20. Enough with the personal attacks folks. A little trash talk is fine...but make it about the teams.
  21. Eric Allen should probably just not pick games anymore. http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks
  22. Jeffrey Chadiha from ESPN: Yeah...really guys...the Packers have had such little fanfare all season really....
