  1. *sigh* Might as well start it. I'm going to be tunnel vision focused on getting a big WR or two this offseason.
  2. That site is a cesspool. Yeah, it's good for fast news during the day at work since I don't have access to twitter here, but the opinions and comments are just meatball stuff.
  3. Urlacher backs out of the pro bowl. London Fletcher takes his place.
  4. Now profootballtalk.com is getting on Jay because of the Trotter article. Giving him crap about crying.
  5. You know what makes me as upset as anything else. It's 7 months or so until we get to see the Bears take the field again.
  6. But we were playing one of the hottest (the hottest?) offense in the NFL. Giving them the ball first is a mistake, imo. I'm not saying it was the reason they lost by any means, but it was something I'd have done differently. I'm torn on it. I can see the advantage of putting your defense on the field first, because the Bears defense has been very good this year. If we get that 3-and-out, it really sets up well for us afterwards. On the other hand, if you put your offense on the field first and they go 3-and-out, then you just blew the coin toss win in the space of a few minutes. I can see the other side of it, too. Mostly, I think it's a more worthy discussion point than Cutler :) I also like the idea of Hester being the first person in the game to touch the football.

  8. I didn't hear the conversation, but I couldn't agree more. It was so important for the Bears to get off early. As it was, they were behind before Cutler ever took the field. I didn't know who had won the coin toss...I assumed GB did.
  9. The Cutler nonsense is ridiculousness I'm not going to dignify with thought. He was hurt, he had to go out. My mom can play better QB than Todd Collins. Hanie was impressive, but that had as much to do with the Packers not knowing a thing about him as anything else. Our receivers are not good. Knox completely gave up on the pass that got picked from Jay. He didn't fight for it at all. He's done that all freaking year. I really hope we go WR in the first round of the draft. After all this "Jay Quit" nonsense, I'm afraid we're gonna have trouble getting a big FA WR in here. 5 passes to WR's for the Bears in that game. Forte was targeted 15 times. That's not a Super Bowl offense. I want to think we have a good core for next year, but I remember thinking that after the SB run.
  10. Here was the quote I heard about, wishing that Cutler had stayed in there... It was taken by some as a shot at Jay, but I don't think it was meant that way. I think it was just meant that they knew what to do with Jay. They had a familiarity with him.
  11. Um...this is a bit more than a hip pointer....
  12. It's clearly a terrible idea for one of you.
  13. Mike Freeman from CBSsports keeps tweeting about how awful Soldier Field looks, how it's just dirt, and there's things that look like tire tracks on it, and that it looks like a "bad weave". And then everyone else says it's fine. Rachel Nichols and some dude from the WSJ both say the field looks fine.
  14. Hopefully if that happens again this time, they call the obvious holding call they missed  How about the one earlier when the punter saved the TD? Doesn't Hester always get tackled by the punter? And I am not saying that trying to be a smart ass, I just remember when it happened the thread blowing up with "WHY THE PUNTER AGAIN!". He had a streak there where the punter got him a few times in a row...that's all.
  15. Desmond Clark will be active on Sunday. Clark tweeted on Friday: Sean Jensen speculates that means Aromashadu will probably be inactive.
  16. HA! Eric Allen was terrible at picking games back then too!

  18. I'm rooting for the Steelers against anyone but the Bears.
  19. Bart Scott's interview was inspired by Hulk Hogan. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/21/why-of-course-bart-scott-got-his-inspiration-from-hulk-hogan/
  20. Yeah...it's the end of his chat, and he's making his picks. He gave hints earlier...he picked the jets, and didn't think it'd be jets-bears...so.... But we're on reason 8 for his Jets pick...*zzzzzzz*
  21. Yup. I don't feel like going through Simmons' picks all year, but I'd think he have the Bears going about 4-13 if all his picks came true. Strangely enough one time he did pick the Bears is when they played the Pats. He's gone back and forth all season. Usually after a couple times of Chicago covering when he bets against them he'd switch. But for some reason he's under the impression that last week's game could have gone either way and barely gives the Bears credit for the win, let alone the cover. He hasn't given his reasons yet for this pick, cuz he's blathering on about his reasons for the AFC pick.
  22. Looks like Simmons is picking Jets-Packers.
  23. Whatcha doin Erik?
  24. He's not going to be 100% for the game anyways. You think trotting out a broken down safety against the Packers receivers will work out? Broken down? lol He has a hip pointer. He'll take an injection and be fine.
