  1. Eww...Mike Sims Walker. He was a major dud for me in fantasy this year, so naturally I don't like him...:P
  2. Yeah, Roy Williams would be a horrible idea. He's not a terrible player, but it would be similar to Muhsin Muhammad in that he has very little upside left to do anything more than the run of the mill WR numbers. And, just to be a meatball for a moment, I hate his attitude. I mean, I'd deal with it if he was some awesome receiver, but I don't see that.
  3. Not real excited about Roy Williams. Hope that's just Mullin hypothesizing.
  4. Haha...Bill Murray... http://www.blackbookmag.com/article/the-legend-of-bill-murray-strikes-again/24662
  5. Yeah there's really only 2-3 guys I pay attention to when it comes to evaluating tape on players. Kiper and McShay are generally pretty good and assumed, but I also keep up with Mike Mayock (NFL Network) and Wes Bunting/Matt Bowen at the National Football Post. Those three (Mayock, Bowen, Bunting) have all been pretty consistent on who was most impressive through practices and the game. Yeah, I mostly agree with those 3 also. Having watched a lot of the practices and all of the game. My amateur eye hasn't disagreed with much other than I don't know why anyone likes Nate Solder. Yeah...Solder really got beat bad at the game. There's no reason your QB should get sacked when there's no blitzing allowed.
  6. Yeah...obviously their ultra low payroll skews things, which the author of the article admits to. Just like it's not bad to be the Yankees at the bottom of the list with the number of wins they get. But the ones that stand out are the winning, low payroll teams, and the losing high payroll teams. Obviously it's better to have a high payroll. Just gotta be smart about it. No big revelation there.
  7. ESPN ranks the teams by payroll vs victories. Cubs are ranked 2nd to last, beating only the Yankees. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hruby/110126_mlb_payrolls&sportCat=mlb
  8. Don Banks first mock draft is out. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/don_banks/01/27/2011-nfl-mock-draft/index.html?xid=cnnbin&hpt=Sbin Castonzo at #13?
  9. Let Tim know if it's any good, since that's a different site than what he mentioned.
  10. Bears can always use a 5th head coach somewhere.
  11. PFT thinks Kaepernick might get himself into the first round with his performance, comparing him to Jay Cutler in that Cutler made a huge move with his senior bowl week. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/27/colin-kaepernick-may-be-making-cutler-like-climb/
  12. Derrick Rose has 2 stomach ulcers. He had an endoscopy yesterday. Should be good to play on Friday.
  13. 10 minutes? The puppy bowl is 2 hours of puppies! Rerun back to back for 12 hours beginning at 3pm on Super Bowl Sunday.
  14. Oh man, I didn't realize Holmes was a UFA. I'd love to have him.
  15. Locker apparently really stunk today. The guy that runs Walterfootball said he's thinking about dropping him into the 2nd round.
  16. Honestly, that's part of what I love about Jay Cutler. When the media would attack Rex and his teammates would defend him, I felt like he needed that. I'm glad Jay's teammates are defending him, but I don't feel like he needs that. He's fine. I think this whole thing just kind of reinforces Jay's "I don't care what anyone else thinks" attitude.
  17. Yeah, I didn't know the penalty was a dispute.
  18. Brad Biggs pointed out on the Score this morning that there's an inordinate number of FA's that will be available this offseason thanks to the labor stuff. Something about the number of years needed to be a UFA increased by one year when the CBA ran out and this year was played as uncapped. So it's left a lot larger pool of FA's this year.
  19. Here's the link if people want more info on the dogs...they only show 20 dogs... http://animal.discovery.com/tv/puppy-bowl/starting-lineup/starting-lineup.html
  20. Hmm...Plaxico Burress is supposed to be out of jail in late summer. The Bears have a history of being pretty intolerant of off-the-field issues, so they probably won't go for it...and who knows how well he'll play anyway. But after seeing Vick come out of jail and be resurgent, you have to think that some team is gonna take a chance. Maybe he could be that big target the Bears need? Probably not worth tons of discussion till we see what the draft and FA bring.
  21. Weak. Good it was a cheapshot. Would it have even been helmet to helmet if Rodgers didn't turn his head into him? I say Rodgers initiated the contact, and he should be fined. Honestly, as far as helmet to helmet fines go, $10k isn't too bad. Clearly the NFL didn't think it was that cheap of a shot.
  22. Peppers fined $10k for the helmet to helmet hit on Rodgers.
  23. I'm curious what more you want him to say than what he already has.
