I understand being disappointed with specific plays. But I don't know how anyone can be disappointed with the season a 2nd year, 5th round draft pick, out of Abilene Christian who had 51 catches, for 960 yards, 5 TDs, and a league's 5th best 18.8 yards per reception. Just like Hester before him, Knox is a victim of being thrust into the wrong situation as the #1 WR. Get a legit WR and watch him get better. Fair enough. I'm willing to say revise my statement and say that he's disappointed me a whole lot as a #1 WR. I'm not saying to throw him out the door or anything. But I would like to see him not be a #1 next year.

i'm too lazy to look it up, but i'm pretty sure that person wasn't saying that. very few people think that the cubs will be bad for several years simply because of the payroll resources they have. Then who cares what some nobody said. Yeah....this thread is for "experts"!

Sure. But after the season, Pujols could easily want to see what's out there in free agency land. It's much safer to get him locked up now. -
Couldn't agree more on the Knox stuff. Knox has made had some flashes, but he's disappointed me a whole lot.

Interesting fact from Brad Biggs' positional breakdowns... Daniel Manning and Chris Harris are the first Bears safties to start all 16 games in a season since Mike Brown and Tony Parrish in 2001.

I've been making mocks w/ Liuget to the Bears for months now. He's my favorite prospect in the draft. I think the Bears trade down anyway. Hopefully they can still get 2 of a good OL, DT, WR, or CB in the 1st 2 rounds. Walterfootball's new mock today has Liuget going to the Chargers at 18.

Yeah and his reasoning makes a lot of sense. Taylor will only make $1.25m for 2011. He's already been paid his big money for 2010. You'll save a negligible amount of money cutting him.

If Cutler did that, you'd call him a douche. More than likely. My point is that it's more dislike of the Packers than dislike of the celebration he does. Well then I'm not sure how that's sour grapes. It'd be sour grapes if we didn't mind the celebration until they won, and then suddenly hated it. But I'm pretty sure there's been comments about how dumb the belt celebration has been all season.

Me either, but after the year he had running behind that line, he has to be top 10 easily. I suppose if you consider his receiving abilities out of the backfield you could make a case for top 5. he was ranked their 6th-best RB for the season http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/01/21/undercover-mvps-matt-forte/ i'd like to hear specifically what of that write-up you disagree with, minny He said he's not a top 3 back. I think there's a lot more to it than just a fight over the length of the season. The owners want the players to roll back the percent of revenue they currently get. Yeah, there's a lot to it. Also the owners want to severely limit the rookie salaries.

Bell could be ok as a backup. The reason Bell was inactive all year is because he wasn't a ST guy. Wolfe was...which is what kept him around. I think it's worth a shot to try Bell as the backup. He's not going to be worse at it than Taylor was.

Brad Biggs is doing a position by position analysis of the Bears...one position daily over this past week, and this coming week. In his analysis of the O-line, he has this, which I know won't really surprise anyone, but just is almost unbelievable: Speaking of Chris Williams, it's going to be really interesting to see what position he's playing next season.

The problem isn't necessarily size with Knox and Hester. It's lack of strength against the bump and lack of route running ability to juke away from the press coverage. Holmes has both of those. As did the small Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce who worked well in the Martz offense. If Martz is hellbent on going with small fast guys, there is no better small fast guy in the league than Santonio Holmes. Yeah, Holmes will fight for the ball. I'd love Santonio Holmes, though I completely understand the desire for a big WR.
