Womens World Cup Championship Game was the most watched soccer game ever on ESPN. It drew a 7.4 fast national rating. The previous high was a 4.0 for last years US-Algeria mens match. With an average viewership of 13.5 million people, it was the 6th most watched soccer game ever in the US.

Despite the lockout, the NBA schedule will be announced tomorrow. Reports are that the opener will be Bulls at Mavs on Nov 1.

That was most annoying part of the coverage. It seemed like Foudy, Chastain, and even Ian Darke would dismiss talent and tactics for the intangibles and patriotism all the time. It really drove me nuts.

Really disappointed in the US's loss yesterday, but man...that Alex Morgan is gonna good. She was involved in everything positive the US did in that second half. A combination of young talent and good looks, she's gonna be a star.

Good god why? I can't think of a more boring "success" at the plate. The only "exciting" bunt I can think of in baseball is a squeeze, and even that is because of the play at the plate, not because of the bunt. Bunting sucks. -

even in that case he should know about red cards. Hey jerks! I know what the heck a redcard is but they made it sound like they were playing with one less player on the field. I mean sure they had a player who was unable to come back into the game but that wasn't what they made it sound like. Also I only watched the last 30 minutes so I didn't see the redcard which would have made more sense. I don't think being a player down would really be that big of a deal though, a well trained player should be able to play most the game without resting, its not like you are sprinting constantly, half the time you sit and wait for the ball to get near you. Was it a good player who was kicked out or a sub? You don't know what a red card is. If you get red carded, you leave the game. There is no substitute. You play one man (woman) down for the rest of the match.

I don't know the details, but Scurry was on the postgame, and she was saying the same thing, but she implied that that wasn't a rule in back then and that she thought she was the reason the rule was changed.
