Still some stuff to work out. Peyton Manning, Brees, Logan Mankins, and Vincent Jackson are all trying to get exempted from franchise tag status as part of the settllement of one of the outstanding lawsuits. If it gets done today, the union will reform tomorrow and players will vote, and then the owners will vote on Thursday.

Womens World Cup Championship Game was the most watched soccer game ever on ESPN. It drew a 7.4 fast national rating. The previous high was a 4.0 for last years US-Algeria mens match. With an average viewership of 13.5 million people, it was the 6th most watched soccer game ever in the US.

Despite the lockout, the NBA schedule will be announced tomorrow. Reports are that the opener will be Bulls at Mavs on Nov 1.

That was most annoying part of the coverage. It seemed like Foudy, Chastain, and even Ian Darke would dismiss talent and tactics for the intangibles and patriotism all the time. It really drove me nuts.

Really disappointed in the US's loss yesterday, but man...that Alex Morgan is gonna good. She was involved in everything positive the US did in that second half. A combination of young talent and good looks, she's gonna be a star.

Alex Morgan could give Hope Solo a run for her money. Alex Morgan wins that contest, imo. Between how much I enjoyed the Men's WC, and now this one...I really need to start watching more soccer....

Good god why? I can't think of a more boring "success" at the plate. The only "exciting" bunt I can think of in baseball is a squeeze, and even that is because of the play at the plate, not because of the bunt. Bunting sucks. -
