Except that last year that 46th spot had to be an emergency QB. This year, if you choose to go with only 2 QB's, you can have that 46th spot be any position you want.

It's a roster spot that could have been used for an impact player on offense. Haha...ok. I think with a 90 man training camp roster, we can manage to squeeze in a ST guy. They don't dress 90 on game day. It's not game day. It's training camp.

It's not just you. Their stubborn refusal to acquire dynamic, impact players on offense is incredible. They need receivers and RB's. They very little depth and/or playmakers at either position. Here's a short list of FA's who realistically could have been or could still be signed and would/could make an impact on offense: - Darren Sproles - Santana Moss - Joe Addai - Michael Bush - Michael Floyd - Lance Moore - James Jones - Mike Tolbert Malcolm Floyd? Santana Moss wasn't realistic...he was one of the first players to sign anywhere and went back to Washington.

He's a big ST guy....probably will be to replace Davis in that regard.

Lost a starting safety (though they have an in-house replacement), lost one of their better special teams players, and haven't yet come to terms with their starting center or their best special teamer. Still need to come to terms with their 1st round draft pick, and don't have a 3rd LB. Not complaining or anything, just throwing out bits that you missed.

I'm hoping that Williams can be a "bail out" target for Cutler, so he has somewhere to go with the football when Knox and Bennett/Hester are covered. If for some reason the Bears actually get Sims-Walker, that's looking like a possibly really good, if unproven, WR core.

Bears have now signed all draft picks with the exception of Carimi.

They'll make another move on the line. They outbid Pittsburgh for Colon...he just wanted to stay in Pittsburgh bad enough to take less. They aren't done there. Don't hold your breath on another WR though. Probably will get Kruetz, Graham and Roach re-signed today. Maybe another LB. Hopefully they'll pay Forte too.

Martz used him well previously, and Williams has a relationship with Daryl Drake, the WR coach, from their days at Texas.

Not really. But Manning never really showed a ton of interest in the Bears either. I think the Bears knew he was gonna get some money, and Manning knew the Bears weren't interested in paying that. Not with Major Wright waiting in the wings.

I'd wager that Williams is our only WR addition. Bears sign 2nd round pick, Paea.

Danieal Manning gets a four-year, $20 million contract, with $9 million guaranteed from the Texans. Also, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, veteran offensive tackle Willie Colon turned down an extra $3 million from the Bears to stay with the Steelers. Colon agreed to a five-year, $29 million contract.

Yeah, only Brandon Stokely has changed his mind so far, and that was because the Redskins had roughly 200 WR's on the roster.
