  1. Eh. Smith wasn't a big loss.
  2. That's cool. But if Olsen goes now, it will be a huge fail. Absolutely. And now do you give Olsen an extension to keep him happy?
  3. There we go. Now you can have 2 TE sets with Olsen and Spaeth...I like that.
  4. Wow...for a guy that's done nothing.
  5. We still have Davis, right? So now the TE's are Spaeth, Davis and Olsen? Yep. I don't know a ton about him, but Looks like maybe Spaeth is more of a blocking TE for 2 TE sets?
  6. I heard that Todd Heap guy is a FA. Not yet. Can't officially cut him yet. He's most likely gonna re-sign with the Ravens once they can officially cut him.
  7. Ok, wtf.
  8. Forte is definitely gonna get some money. But outside of that, I think they're just playing it slow. Once players can really sign tomorrow, I bet the Bears start getting some guys in here.
  9. Biggs says that if they are able to move Olsen, then the Bears might get in on a WR. Apparently the Bears have made contact regarding Malcolm Floyd, but he said that doesn't mean that money has been discussed. Also mentions Roy Williams and Braylon Edwards. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-bears-could-look-to-add-wr-if-they-move-olsen-20110728,0,6366542.story
  10. Olsen wants more money. I think this is the last year of his rookie deal, and he's only paid like $600k or something. Martz's offense is never going to showcase what Olsen can do as a receiving TE. My guess is that Olsen and his agent went to the Bears and asked for a trade. They gave permission to seek one for the right price, and then emails were sent. It doesn't seem like the Bears are desperate to trade him, but would if the right deal came along. Maybe that's an optimistic reading of the situation.
  11. Colledge going the Cards. Jenkins close to a deal with Washington. Jones close to a deal in Minny.
  12. Babin's deal with the Eagles is 5 years, $28mil.
  13. Seems like lots of Bears end up with those two teams.
  14. Awesome. Let's trade our best receiver for a 3rd rnd pick. I don't understand why this franchise can't get more creative and get Jay more weapons. As good as Aaron Rodgers is, he wouldn't be without a good OL, a good running game, and guys like Finley, Jennings and Driver. The Bears don't have anyone who is even as good as Driver is in his mid-30's. IMO they need another RB as well. Taylor hasn't shown that he can do it anymore and Wolfe is a ST player. When Grant went down the Pack had Starks and Jackson to fall back on. We need something similar. Did you quote the wrong post here?
  15. I hate this idea. Players coming off career years right before FA really scare me. 17.5 Sacks in his career prior to last year (7 seasons and 66 games). 12.5 sacks last year at age 30. 2 forced fumbles prior to last year, 2 FF last year I dunno, he just screams 'huge bust' to me. He'll probably go to the Eagles anyway. *flex* Babin goes the Eagles...5 year deal.
  16. Bears sign punter Adam Podlesh, formerly from Jacksonville, to a 5 year deal.
