  1. That's a pretty terrible 1-line summary of that article. My feelings are crushed by your critique.
  2. Certainly doesn't sound like he's interested to me.
  3. Notre Dame not interested in a yearly game with Texas. http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/bohls/entries/2011/08/29/notre_dame_like.html
  4. We just need OU to bolt to the Pac-12. When the conference folds there will be no exit fees. :)
  5. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE! (Please don't sue me, Michael Buffer.)
  6. Didn't he just get a new contract last year?
  7. That would be true if nothing had indeed changed. Okay, but "LHN HS stuff came out and aTm flipped out and switched conferences while that stuff was being banned at the NCAA level" doesn't sound any better. And again, it was more than just that. The conference members agreed to let the horns have their own network under certain conditions. Before the channel even started they were already going outside those terms and basically thumbing their nose at the rest of the teams in the Big 12. I guess we're the crybabies because we're the only one not bending over and grabbing our ankles for the mighty longhorns. They made a deal that was in their best interests and we are doing the same.
  8. I don't know anyone who is saying that.

  10. Tantrum? We're in a bad spot now so we're finding a better spot for our athletic program. The tantrums are being thrown by Baylor, who realizes that when the Big 12 crumbles that they are royally fucked, and by the Longhorns, who are allegedly going to refuse to play us simply because we found a better home & won't allow them to push us around anymore. Texas wouldn't be able to push anyone around in the SEC, so I would have no qualms about them joining us.
  11. Yes. It's not like the stadium was half full or anything, but sell outs were once or twice a year at best. Now we are less than 500 seats away from selling out the stadium in season tickets. The resurgence of the team combined with the pending SEC move has greatly increased demand and sales.
  12. Are you suggesting that replacing XXX with a&m greatly improves the schedule? Not at all, but at least it was something to sell to fans. Missouri MAY be a decent game. The rest flat out suck. If they can pull off the longshot and get Notre Dame to move their USC game, then that would more than adequately fill A&M's slot on the schedule. But what if they don't and they still refuse to play us? Add in the fact that they might very well have a 2nd straight mediocre season and ticket sales won't be all that brisk for 2012.
  13. Hey Longhorn fans, here's your exciting 2012 home football schedule. Reserve your tickets now!
  14. What I've heard is that it should be less than a week. Not sure if this is true, but some people are saying that we will send a formal letter to pretty much every conference out there asking to join in an effort to spare any lawsuits against the SEC for "tortious interference". They want to make every effort possible to make sure it doesn't look like the SEC tried to poach us from the Big 12.
  15. Glad the horns don't have us holding them back anymore. [expletive] Baylor up their stupid asses. They should just be thankful that they got to ride along in the Big 12 for so long instead of being left out in the cold like SMU & TCU were. They should also probably start preparing for life in the Sun Belt Conference.
  16. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :bye:
  17. I get what you're saying, but the dude has the most accurate info out there on A&M mainly because he doesn't run with every rumor he hears. He'll confirm something as much as possible before saying anything definitive. Two weeks ago I would have believed it on the spot. I don't distrust him, just the past two weeks of all the rumors. It was starting to feel like the Brian Roberts or Peavy threads. Yeah, some of his speculations may not be right but unlike some of the other sites he won't announce anything definitive unless he is absolutely sure he is right. This wasn't an "I think A&M is going to notify the Big 12 today" thing, although he had hinted pretty strongly that we would hear the news today.

  19. Official press release:
  20. Texas A&M has notified the Big 12 that we are looking elsewhere.

  22. I'm now hearing by Saturday, as well. We shall see. I'm ready for this to be over. It's not just about the LHN. We should have made the move last year, but I think our administration really wanted to make an attempt at salvaging what we all knew was a dying conference. Maybe that was just for political reasons so we could say that we did what we could to save the Big 12 or maybe they actually felt that would be best. Either way, many (if not most) Aggies were ready to bolt last year. We need stability. When the Big 12 crumbles and everyone moves to the superconferences, we'll have our place in the SEC already and the other schools will be scrambling not to be left out. I don't think that would have happened to us, but now we won't have to worry about that.
  23. info = bad Not happening today. #-o
  24. As we all expected, Coach John Reese (father of Aggie commit J-Mychal Reese) has now officially been added to the A&M staff.
