I thought coaches had to inform Penn State if they were interested in recruiting any of the players and then it was up to the players to contact the coaches to start the process. Did I dream that up in my head?

Pffft. That's just reasonable fan concern. Nothing wrong with that! Who said the death threats came from Cubs fans? I know some Braves fans who are pissed that Dempster turned them down. Dempster isn't black or any other kind of minority (other than ginger and Canadian) so that rules out Cubs fans as leaving threats.
