  1. If he's really blocking the trade, then I am disappointed. We're talking 2 1/2 months here. He's a FA after the season if he wants to go to LA or come back to the Cubs he can do so for next season.
  2. I heard this will become a 3-team deal with Delgado going to Baltimore and Brian Roberts coming to the Cubs.
  3. Hate to see Demp go as he's become one of my favorite Cubs, but this is the right move. Hopefully he comes back next year.
  4. Still, there was a reason they chose PSU over other schools in the first place, and a reason they didn't transfer already when all this was already going on. Because they weren't able to do so without penalty?
  5. The Big 10 could still punish them and put in a tv ban. That's really all I thought was missing. Or having to play home games in an empty stadium. Apparently they are announcing their own penalties in about an hour.
  6. Not harsh enough IMO.
  7. Seems odd. He had good numbers at AAA. Why did they give up on him?
  8. yay?
  9. Can the Rockets decide not to sign Asik to an offer sheet at this point?
  10. Who are the finalists? Texas A&M is one of them. Despite his dad being one of the 2 or 3 best players in our program's history, I never thought we would come close to landing Jabari. It would have been a major accomplishment for us just to get him to take an official visit. Who are the finalists? Kentucky, Michigan St., Duke, Kansas, BYU, DePaul, Georgetown, UNC, Stanford, and Florida. Thanks.
  11. Who are the finalists?
  12. You mean the 2012 National League All-Star 1B Bryan LaHair?
  13. Love that commercial.
  14. Just curious since I was born in '84 so I don't know how bad that was. Was it as bad as '03? I was in college and I remember after the whole Bartman/A Gonz fiasco, my dorm basically turned into a riot. Kids were throwing stuff out the window or into the hallway and I'm pretty sure I've never heard so much cussing as I did that night. For those who lived through both, which was worse? '84 or 2003? I was 9, in 84, so I got over that pretty easy. 2003 was awful. That gets my vote, but you probably need to gauge a rabid Cubs fan in his 50's to get a better feel on the differences between the two. I was 11 in '84 and I was crushed, but 2003 was even harder on me. My dad was rushed to the hospital right before game 7 and he wouldn't let me go with because he didn't want me to miss the game. Plus he wanted me to text updates to my sister who went with my mom to the hospital, so I sat by myself watching the game not knowing how my dad was doing which made that loss even worse. He just turned 81 recently and I'll have to ask him his opinion on this, but I'd guess that he'd say 1969 was the hardest for him to take.
  15. Now we're even for 1984. You couldn't have possibly been around in 1984. Nothing could make up for that. See you in hell, Steve Garvey. Well, I WAS alive in 1984, but I was still very young. I was three during those playoffs. I have only very brief memories of that season, like "Jody Davis hitting a double" on a WGN game and that was it. I can remember watching their games before heading to the high school for my games. Toward the end of the season, I'd rush home after football practice to (hopefully) catch the end of the games. I remember the clincher in Pittsburgh very well, my dad actually had a tear in his eye. I also remember being depressed for a week after the lost in San Diego. There is nothing that can make up Steve [expletive] Garvey. We had 2 World Series tickets in our hands. I believe it was for Game 5. I begged my dad to keep them instead of returning them for a refund. I wonder what they'd be worth now if he had listened to me.
  16. Yeah, that was awful. Our marketing department has been taking a beating for that one, mostly from Aggies.
  17. Brandon Roy agrees to terms with the Timberwolves.
