  1. You should try Diet Dr. Pepper if you're not wild about Diet Coke. I buy it by the case, but I work at a Coca-cola warehouse so I get 24 - 20 oz. drinks for $6.25. I also like Coke Zero better than Diet Coke. Diet drinks are bad for you. Has it ever been proven that they are a serious detriment to your health?
  2. Well it's not like they were making a move for the sake of making a move. They lost their starting DE and a backup DE on the same day, so a move had to be made. They will be a better team with Taylor than Daniels because he gives them a good pass rusher that they have been in need of. Plus, a second and sixth next year will hardly cripple them, especially if Taylor sticks around for a couple more and Daniels comes back healthy. Snyder hasn't run the team the team the way I would have, but I can't really find any fault in this move at all. (I'm a skins fan)
  3. Luis "The Beast" Salazar
  4. I would purchase EI but my cable provider doesn't offer it, so I'm "stuck" with mlb.tv. Although, this year I've been fairly pleased with their service.

  6. Good luck to Fonzie. Hopefully he looks like he hasn't missed a beat and will be donning a cubs jersey by Tuesday or Wednesday.
  7. Plus, the offense as a whole has been sluggish recently, but Lilly pitched a hell of a ballgame yesterday (in a tiny ballpark) after a terrible outing the time before. That's a positive note that is worthy of mention. The cubs as a whole were one of the best offense teams in baseball in the first half. They added a frontline starter that has only pitched a game for us thus far. We have another legitimate no. 1, Dempster (who looked lights out at the AS game), Lilly, and Marquis rounding out the rotation. That's a great offense, a great rotation, and a really good pen. We will be fine.
  8. Yup. That sound you hear is the bottom falling out. Seriously? It's TWO games. Two games that are continuing some very clear and worrisome trends. I'll grant you Kosuke, but who else? Ramirez is slumping, he'll be fine. Lee has lost his power, but it's not a physical thing with his wrist because he was hitting for power earlier this year. I bet he'll bounce back, nothing ridiculous, but probably 12-15 HR in the second half. Other than those three, what are the worrisome trends?
  9. No wait, they are still in last place. I would put one in Tejada's ear tomorrow. What did he do? They didn't mention anything on the radio. I'm assuming he was posing after the leaping catch? Yeah, when he landed he stood there in this ridiculous position then started making a throat slitting motion. Nah, f that. Ryan had better earhole him tomorrow.

  12. He is terrible. I'm starting to buy into the theory that umps are calling a huge strike zone against him. It sure seems that he doesn't get many close calls.
  13. I can't wait to see the line that Dan Uggla puts up in that series. It's going to be scary good. Seriously though, I'm not panicking...yet. It's only two games, and I'll chalk it up to coming slow out the gates. They lost their first two of the year as well before getting red hot. Fukudome is concerning me however, I hope he figures it out soon.
  14. I'm hoping he joins the rotation, at least by next year.
  15. Bases full of Pads for A. Gonazlez, one out
  16. How long is Wood expected to miss?
  17. Another great piece! I've never concerned myself much with mechanics and such, but after reading your articles I find them quite interesting. Your writing style is really conducive to learning for newbies like me.
  18. Lou probably had to make a deal to give him a foot rub for a week or something. Because you know that Lou has to handle him with kids gloves. It's that fragile psyche of his and all. I don't like your new name wringley23  I was being facetious. The "kids gloves" and "fragile psyche" thing was taken directly from a wrigley23 post about Soriano. Hmm, I thought I was pretty obvious given that I quoted Derwood's post.
  19. there are few baseball analysts I dislike more than Orel. he's absolutely terrible did we just become best friends? (I've never been more excited to see a new movie than I am about Step Brothers) I think Will Ferrell is much better off in supporting roles. Frank the Tank > * his other roles. that movie was terrible no. terribly awesome perhaps
  20. Has there actually been anyone or anything that has come out and said that they did indeed change his mechanics? I have heard rumblings on here about how Larry had perhaps thought about tinkering with his mechanics, but I've never seen anything in print to confirm it. If there has been then I apologize, but I always thought it was more speculation than actual fact. The only thing I could find were these quotes from Hill himself: Now I don't expect Hill to come out and throw Rothschild under a bus, but couldn't it be possible that Rich lost the feel for his mechanics on his own?

  22. So basically, when you factor in how many high leverage situations he screwed up, he had the arguably the worst performance ever on a baseball field. At least for a positional player.
