    This is more or less my feelings as well. Taking into account that these are the best players in the world, it would be a stretch to say that any of them are "anti-clutch". They have all been in high pressure situations countless times before they ever even reach the majors. The best players just succeed in those high leverage situations more times than the others.

    I realize that he's 38, but could Hector Carrasco be any worse than Howry? He's put up pretty solid numbers at AAA. Anybody have a very brief report on his stuff/velocity?

    Howry has allowed at 1.090 OPS since the ASB. He should have been DFA before Eyre. Edit: 1.090 before tonight

    I refuse to believe that statistic. Straight from the mouth of Pat Hughes. I just can't believe that the Cubs in the last 63 years have been unable to win 8 in a row on the road. I mean I know the Cubs haven't had the best teams, but wow. :-k I swore ESPN said the cubs' downfall this year was that they were terrible on the road. it was until 8 road games ago, but then few teams do well on the road I was just poking fun at the main, albeit weak, argument that the talking heads on TV were spewing on about the cubs downfall this year. As it turns out, IMO, it was more of an anomaly that they were playing better than average at home and less than average on the road. They are a great team, regardless of geographic location.

    Yeah, he got him right in the ribs. I think he did it on purpose. Braves radio speculates that the Cubs hit Escobar because he's buddies with Bueno in Cuba and since that guy go sent down, Escobar was the next best thing... Not to mention that ball he riffled back at Lilly earlier. Yeah, the braves announcers showed a clip of Escobar's earlier hit and were basically insinuating that Lilly was pissed that Escobar hit a ball up the middle. Absolutely idiotic.
