I honestly really appreciate all the feedback and effort with these responses. This is obviously tertiary to the hotel info and restaurants, but assuming I’m interested in the NFL conference championship games (I will be and will be awesome if it’s the Bears so you guys have another band wagoner onboard) any close places/bars that are kind of “laid back” and not super-busy to watch the games at? Cheap booze would be appreciated. Give me an inch and I’ll ask for a mile.

thanks guys! as far as food, the first thing i said (and she was excited) was we have to get chicago pizza - but we are open to anything, honestly. probably want one nice (read: expensive) dinner but otherwise just something moderately priced for most? we are pretty much walking into this blind. we love to eat just about anything. we are both just excited to go and are walking into it completely blind. we both are pretty simple in so much that we don't need to "do" a whole lot to have a great time so we're flexible and open to whatever (know that really helps in no way haha)

Wasn't sure if I should bump the 2018 Cubs Convention thread since I'm going to start out this one the same way...but the girlfriend surprised me with tickets to the Cubs Convention this year! Super pumped since it's been 29 years since I've been to Chicago (was 7 at the time). so, any advice (well, anything more than what was posted last year) is appreciated! We are getting in the night before the convention and leaving the Monday after so we will have a bit of time beyond the convention itself to eat/tour/drink/etc. We're staying at the W Chicago Lakeshore. Thoughts about that hotel? They apparently have a shuttle that runs from that to the convention so that'll be taken care of. Anything in particular within walking distance to our hotel? Maybe that's crazy talk because I'm freezing my ass off in eastern NC at the moment and it's 31 degrees... Any of you all planning on going?

hasn't theo always said "nobody is ever untouchable"? i mean, yeah, they would be open to it if it was an offer that really blew them away i guess, but this doesn't seem newsworthy unless i'm missing something -
couldn't the cubs just say they felt like he needed time outside the spotlight to get back to playing "normal" baseball and stuff? I mean that would fly i would imagine all that said i really hope he's not a part of the organization next year

Yeah. They’ve scored more points the last two games than given up on the year. I don’t see how you sleep on them. I mean they beat Bama in a NC game 3 years ago. They had, arguably, the best player in college football running their offense that year. I think Clemson is plenty good and probably the 2nd best team but I think Bama is quite a bit better and wins easily when/if they play. I’d guess Bama will be a 8+ point favorite in that game. Oh I agree and it’s boring because Bama will almost assuredly win another championship. I just thought it puzzling to put Clemson in the “second tier” by Raw. If anything, they are the best bet imo to have another game of their life and put up a fight against Alabama. But yes, I think Bama +8 with Clemson sounds about right currently

i hope that's just theo being nice and giving the appearance of genuine interest to try and help him get a good/better offer from another team that's the only thing i can think of. plus he's not going to say before FA starts - yeah, nah, no interest.

i have no real reason to dislike darnold at all. but your shameless, obnoxious, throw-it-in-your-face-when-nobody-really-cares mentality is hard to ignore Gotta admit he’s legit af tho if you say so. gotta admit i don't care about him or the jets at all he may be really good or maybe he's just a guy that will be solid. or maybe he will eventually suck. or he will be the second coming of jesus christ. the point is nobody knows and more importantly nobody really cares about this tiny handful of stats about a jets team that is not worth noticing now. be encouraged without trying to dunk on people that absolutely have not ever hated on the guy

I don't think I bragged about anything in the minor league forum... I talked about Baez, but that wasn't in the minor league forum. I do remember making fun of you for liking Jen-Ho Tseng and how he wouldn't amount to much. Well, I won't be "bragging" about some claim or prediction (even when I'm right) I made anymore. I'm afraid of someone wanting to choke me out and/or accuse me of tooting my own in horn in a sexually explicit way. Not worth the trouble. PS -- I'm going to be totally right about Nico next year lol. you had said something one time about "i was talking up player X it in a minor league thread a year ago. look it up". then mojo or someone said "no thanks". Anyway, again, it was just a lighthearted joke. and yes, you have picked on poor jen-ho before and once again he's my avatar because i had his minor league pic as my avatar before because he was wearing his hat funny af on top of his head and then he graduated to the big leagues and so it was in order. and i hope you are right. because i share your opinion. well, it's probably neck and neck with amaya but gun to my head i'd probably lean nico
