  1. what's ludicrous? http://cdn.hiphopwired.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/ludacris.jpg
  2. Lets all be sure to thank Darron1908 when Price signs a team-friendly deal this off season
  3. to be fair, i often turn on the TV and search for the channel that is showing the most whacked out programming.
  4. 7 wins with 5 hits or less seems really impressive. If the offense ever wakes up and the pitches remains steadfast, we will go on a really good run.
  5. On second thought, I think the bar/restaurant may have been called the bullpen. And the "19-O-8" chant was directly chanted towards ME. Like they heckled me for having the audacity to wear a visiting team's t shirt and sit there quietly in my seat trying to enjoy a game.
  6. They are terrible, but to be fair, the team is awful and their only good player is injured They are terrible. It's been a few years, but they are terrible. I've been probably 4-5 times, but I've always left feeling that way. The last time I went I did meet a really nice old gentleman (braves fan) at the bar/restaurant across the street from the stadium (The Dugout?) before one game. We chatted baseball and he was just a really nice guy. He said he was going to the game but thought he'd go back and spend time with the wife since he was a little tired (he reminded me a bit of Moonlight Graham, FWIW). He gave me tickets to the "715 Club" which is apparently a private restaurant area overlooking centerfield. When I was there, some frat boy looking bro said to me: Frat dick: "hey that Cubs hat looks new" Me: "yes. it is. I got it today, actually" Frat dick: "figures. loser BANDWAGON (he said this like he heard the term for the first time in his life and wanted to use it for once) fan!" Me: "you know the Cubs are terrible, right? how does that make me a bandwagoner?" Frat dick: *some stupid, failed attempt at a repartee that I've since forgotten* Between him and the fans behind me when I sat in my stadium seats that chanted "19-O-8" *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap*, to be sure I wanted desperately to punch someone in the face by the time I left.
  7. Excited to see if Tseng can keep his current hot stretch going.
  8. There's still plenty of fans of it. Just a lot of people are willing to give it up if it means standardizing the rules across the league, as they realize that the DH isn't ever going away in the AL. Plus injecting additional offense into this pitching-dominated climate.
  9. I didn't see the play, but the official word is a jammed thumb. Thanks. I guess that's good news.
  10. I've been on the phone the past 45 mins or so. Any word on Montero? How bad did the injury look?
  11. what pisses me off more than anything is that it's 11:33 and i'm not tired at all now
  12. Will be hard with the pitchers they are going up against, but you never know. I would be tickled with 2 of 3, personally. Get back to 9 games over and use these losses as motivation going into the second half.
  13. Hey, they are getting all these tough losses out of the way so they will be nails in the WC game
  14. Certainly a frustrating game. This team has shown resiliency in not letting these types of losses carry over to the following games. I have confidence that will once again be the case. It's a damn long season and this is the most competitive team in some time. They're still 3 games up in the WC and have a favorable second half schedule. This loss stings, but it's far from the end of the world. There's still a ton of baseball left this year. If you would have told me the Cubs would be 8 games over .500 on 7/8 before the season I would have taken it.
  15. You do realize they have a 4 game lead on their WC spot and it's VERY unlikely they compete for the division, right? So this single game is not going to make a huge difference in the grand scheme. Plus there is still the bottom of the ninth...
  16. don't worry guys. we'll come back in the bottom of the ninth.
  17. I mean it didn't work in 2013, at this point maybe Starlin is just inconsistent? well, yeah, i don't disagree necessarily. but then again if he's inconsistent then he's just as likely to have a productive second half.
  18. BOLD PREDICTION: the ASB is a much needed few days rest for Castro and he has a much more productive second half.
