    Yeah if you add Ross, it's hard to picture a huge contract SP being the target. Fowler/the OF would seem to be more likely, and they won't have the cost of someone like Price. Hey, speaking of FA to be OF, Upton could also be in play in a 'big' deal. Doesn't he hate chicago/cubs and he has to give permission to be traded there? I'm pretty sure I remember it reported he had the Cubs on his no-trade list and then it was found out he removed them/they weren't on it. But then again I could be completely making that up in my head. Edit: Maybe that was Hamels. But, really, why the [expletive] wouldn't he want to come to Chicago for a two-month playoff push? Makes no sense. He's set to be a free agent and this will only make him a little more attractive to potential buyers. Plus, you know, potential playoffs and all.

    This. I'd do that in a heartbeat. I get that they might be trying to hold off trading Baez, but I hope the front office isn't delaying this by caring about guys like Underwood. They want Baez? Give us Upton or Kemp and he's theirs. PLEASE STOP WITH THE KEMP STUFF

    So, Castro's head wasn't in it in 2013, presumably was in 2014, and I guess is back out in 2015. Seems plausible. sontensei already cleared this up. it's because he had a baby in those years (apparently - i don't keep up with the births of his offspring). it's his kid's fault.

    I like how everyone is in agreement that luck in one game of baseball plays a huge role but that things stabilize over time. These are the same people flipping their [expletive] when the cubs go down 2-1 in a single game.

    I''m getting pretty excited about Ryan Williams. He pretty much flew under the radar even when playing for ECU (though it was easy to be overshadowed pitching alongside Hoffman). I wish I could remember the date when Theo/Jed were in town to watch Hoffman pitch. Would be interesting to see if they got a glimpse of Williams that day.
