Ugh, I saw that this thread had balooned in size, so I thought there might be some actual baseball talk. Instead it's the usual crew humping each other over what great fans they are.

Cheer your heart out the entire game (for the Sox), then, in the closing moments of the ninth inning, rip off the sox shirt, scram like a madman, and beat ozzie guillen to death while he makes a pitching change, all while Hawk Harrelson is yelling "OH MY GOD, THATS A CARDINAL/ASTRO FAN"

I hope Oswalt doesnt bean him. Why risk an ump that may have an itchy trigger finger? Plus I dont think that Pujols deserves it, he did what everyone else would have done in that situation. I mean, he literally saved St. Louis season, he can take 4 or 5 slow steps toward first while watching the ball land?

I'm actually for signing Lofton if we don't get Giles. I think full years of Giles and Murton are big enough upgrades that as long as we get healthy years from the MI (Walker, Nomar/Furcal), we can afford Corey in the lineup. If we have to sign Burnitz again (or another retread like him), then I think we should pick up Lofton, and hope he can play half a season as well as he did last year. Of course, if we're stuck with Cedeno/Neifi at ss, and Murton in left, I think we have to look at any possible upgrades, whether it be Lofton, Preston Wilson, whatever.

Furcal and Lofton seems redundant. I'd rather sign Furcal, keep Corey and just let him hit 8th ALL YEAR, and sign Giles. Keep Murton in left, I guess. Furcal Giles Lee Ramirez Walker Barrett Murton Corey

probably rests somewhere in between fluke and genius, much closer to fluke than genius. i also love your term "on base percentage average", i've never heard of that one. And whoever said that Podsednik is a good leadoff hitter probably needs to re-think what skill sets make a leadoff hitter a good one. Podsednik had a RC of 62. The exact same number as Neifi Perez. -
hopefully epstein screws around all winter, trades manny really late, and blows his entire offseason.

Well, Im pretty much resigned to the fact that Pie is going to be in the majors this year, plate disciplined be damned. I just hope it doesnt stunt his development like it did Patterson. Would be a shame to blow it with our two best positional prospects from the last decade.
