  1. Are you really going by the career averages of a 26 year old starting pitcher who came into the league at the age of 22? His last two seasons have been the stuff of a No. 2 starter, and he's not even near his pitching prime. His numbers are skewed by a rough 75 starts when he was getting his feet wet. I guess when your "point" is completely wrong, it's just easiest to make a fool of yourself. The difference is, I have a point. You have NOTHING but pure speculation. Pitchers in their prime have regressed before, you know. Myers wasn't moved to the pen because the Phillies had to have him there. He was moved because he flat out stunk in the rotation this season. 5 IP per start, with a 9+ ERA, and a WHIP of 1.6. Yep, those look like #2 starter numbers to me. Good point. In three starts. If you can't grasp how stupid it is to move a 26 year old, coming off two good-to-great seasons, to the bullpen because of two bad starts (his first start was good), then it's not even worth having this discussion with you.
  2. Why not? Everyone after Cesar Izturis is doing the same thing...he at least is coming off TJ surgery. Izturis posted bad numbers, one season of not so bad numbers, and then two seasons of more bad numbers. Myers posted bad numbers when he apparently was not ready for the bigs. Then really good numbers as he hit his stride. Even at his best (which was one season, in the middle of four bad ones, mind you) Cesar was never better than average. Can you really not figure this out? These situations are in no way comparable.

  4. Man I really thought that was gone.
  5. Believe me I dont agree with much of what "Larry Horse" writes but its not IMB's place to tell people to shut up and go somewhere else. It's my place to say whatever I want. If the mods have a problem with it, I'm sure they'll take care of it. Considering his posting history, I doubt they will. Oh so its ok to make say shut the hell up and tell them to go back somewhere if you dont like their posting history? Ok then shut up and go back to wherever you came from. I mean its my place to say whatever I want, Is this really bothering you? You can say whatever you want to me, I don't care.
  6. Wow, Aldridge and Oden in the frontcourt, daaaamn.

  8. Without a doubt. The MVP has nothing to do with your teammates. then they should rename it Player of the Year and take the word "valuable" out of it Sorry broham, I can't get on board with you on this one. I think a player who is statistically the best provides the most value to his team. If his teammates suck, and this team doesn't win, that's their problem, he was still individually the most valuable player, much like McGwire in 98.
  9. Actually, it's more RBI's and HR's than everyone besides ARam, more doubles than everyone but Lee and Soriano, more total bases than everyone but Ramirez and Lee. Of players with at least 50 PA's he has a higher OPS than everyone but Ramirez and Lee. Not bad for a guy just flailing away for HR's. Oh, so he has better stats than everyone on the Cubs not named Lee, Ramirez or Soriano? The Sosa man-love crowd is a weeeeird bunch. You know what's even weirder? People who only post in one thread, and that thread being about a player they can't stand. Obsess much? I missed the memo for posting in one thread only. Sorry about that. And would you qualify a post dedicated solely to a player who hasn't been on the team in two years as "obsessing"? Just curious. You know what would be great? If you would shut up and go back to desipio. this gig is old. Im sure there are numerous people here who feel the same about you. Its a damn internet message board, I dont think you have any right at all to tell anybody what to do or where to go. wah wah wah, go find one constructive post he's made, I dare you.

  11. Or just go to desipio. Or cubs.com. Anywhere but here.
  12. Betemit heated up recently and has earned at least some of his pt back

  14. The year we drafted Ryan Harvey, he was one of the players the Devil Rays considered at No. 1. What's your point? Ryan Harvey is completely different from Vitters. What's your point? Of course he is, but that wasn't your point. Your point was that because the DRays think he might be worthy of the No. 1 pick, that we should be ok with picking him. The DRays also thought that Harvey was worthy of the No. 1 pick in 2003, so should we just assume the same, here? Obviously not.

  16. He's a Cub. We might as well start stitching his name on the jersey already.
  17. Actually that's just a single combo. A double would entail two combinations.
  18. Without putting too much thought into it, I'll say Vlad.
  19. Is there another Phil Hughes that I'm not aware of? Because the Yankees wouldn't trade theirs for 10 Carlos Zambranos.
  20. If I remember right, Peavy was just really, really unlucky. I think he gave up a few more home runs than usual, and some of them probably came with men on base, because his peripherals were still really good.
  21. How can you take anything that Chad Ford says seriously? He just latches on to a foreign big man every single year. The stuff about Yi's "elbow finishing at the rim every time" is ridiculous. His videos are all over youtube, and while it's clear he's more athletic than you would think at first glance, he's not exactly jumping out of the gym. And don't ever go to nbadraft.net for in depth scouting, I mean, just read the contradiction's on Yi's "profile". Thumbs up, thanks for that hard work fellas. is funny though. "EEEEN JOOOR FACE PAU GASOL".
  22. Off the top of my head, I think that Hardy leads the NL in RC, topping Willingham (seriously) and Reyes, if that's a stat that you're into.
  23. is this baseball girl hot? i want an internet girlfriend
  24. Reyes, Hanley or Barry
  25. That would be a solid move. I bet there is nothing solid on Glendon these days Aren't tumors solid? Come on. Stop it. Tumors are not funny. What if a clown gets a tumor?
