  1. That was a pretty sweet take on the Godfather.
  2. In these superbowls between two teams that i dont give an s about, it usually takes me until kickoff to decide who im rooting for as much as i hate it, go giants! i really figured that I would root for the pats. I don't know.
  3. What's with the 92.9 kbez adult contemporary? It makes me not want to finish this video. I feel like Delilah should be talking to some crying 20 year old with a husband in iraq.
  4. I may have been unclear in my original sentiment. The point was more that, when the substantive statistics behind the two hitters in question aren't significantly different, advocating one because he fits the mold of a "traditional" leadoff hitter doesn't make sense. Using position in the order as a defining characteristic is what is arbitrary, not the difference between the two spots in the order. Right. Because Albert Pujols would be just as valuable batting leadoff as he is batting 3rd, right? the difference in how many times he gets on compared to how many times an average hitters gets on, coupled with his slg% advantage means that, yes.
  5. the reds don't play the yankees this year. when NY opens up that new stadium, that poor guy will have no use to anyone. The Reds do play at NYY this year. FIRE UP THE ENRIQUE SIGNAL
  6. is 1/8 ninja not true. ninjas are 1/8 marml
  7. 12 teams, standard 5x5, we'll do the draft on here to make sure no one gets those crappy autopicked teams. If you want in, pm me or post here or whatever. Some of the slots are already filled, so I can't promise you that you're in if you want to join.
  8. guys i know for a fact that pitching in the ninth up 4-1 is much more difficult than coming in during a tie game in the seventh with the lead run in scoring position. ninth inning guys that always pitch with leads have more intensity than some puss that just comes in and gets a couple outs with the bases loaded in the seventh. edit wow, the weirdest thing just happened. i dont even remember posting this. I remember reading this thread and then a vision of meph appeared in my mind and said "do as I command" over and over. I guess I blacked out or something, because i just woke up and i was busy typing the equation for eqa over and over in wordpad.
  9. the reds don't play the yankees this year. when NY opens up that new stadium, that poor guy will have no use to anyone.
  10. here's another question "why"
  11. "are" Crack job of a med staff... Did you mean to type our instead of are? In that case you're wrong and Prior's wrong to blame the "Cub doctors", because Prior didn't just get the medical opinion of the Cubs medical staff but Prior was referred to some of the top specialists in the nation. What was the name of that top surgeon out of California? He performed surgery on a lot of pitchers in MLB. If Prior wants to blame someone, he can blame himself. Read this post one more time.
  12. If this is indeed what is holding the trade i would imagine that the deal can be announced tomorrow or saturday. If the mariners fix the paperwork this afternoon i would imagine Sherill and Jones would get check by the orioles tomorrow and then the deal would get announced. Anyway i can't imagine what the reaction would be in here if Roberts gets traded to the indians the next day after Bedard is gone. We'd have to keep the other thread going in perpetuity, in honor of the legendary status of a 150+ page thread on a trade that didn't happen. Kind of an alternative universe 72 Dolphins toasting champagne when the last team loses every year. BTW, are they going to quit doing that crap if the Pats win? They don't do it now.
  13. im doing it this year g-dang it
  14. hasn't peavy, because of his delivery, always been considered a risk for injury? Or is he out of the red-zone by now?
  15. He went way, way, way out of his way to make fun of Vance's 2-year old daughter. He deserves whatever is said about him. (especially since he can't read any of it.)
  16. Oh, ok. "When he does it a few times, I'll be able to predict he'll keep doing it." Clever. Very maverick. Thinking outside of the box, I like it. Yeah, I know how weird is that, that I would read a Cubs blog? That would be like going on a message board to read opinions from other fans of the same team. Kinda creepy, I know. But seriously, you were pimping it in your power rankings thread. Eeeek. How do you feel about Rich Hill? He's a beast imo.
  17. A home run isn't a ball in play, so no.
  18. I'm just speaking for myself, but I always geek out a lot whenever pictures start showing up. I don't care if they are of Kevin Hart and Henry Blanco playing catch. I just like seeing the Cubs unis.
  19. I don't see any way the Dolphins use their first two picks on D-Linemen. Dorsey is a beast and he's at their weakest DL spot, so sure. But the OLine has been weak for years, and they've been trying to patch it up with journeymen and mid-round picks. I just don't see any way they'd spend their first two picks on defensive line with so GLARING a weakness still out there. At their second pick, I don't know who left on the board Oline-wise was worth the pick.
  20. best team in the nation youre the duke a no. 1
  21. bill james has him at 1.32
  22. And it's pissing me off. Someone come talk draft with me while I'm bored at work during the week. Please. start a draft thread here or something, i'd love to.
  23. we laugh, but it's not going to be as funny when we sign ryan theriot to an identical deal.
  24. hey guys i know i cant prove it but
  25. Who was it that led the league in mental RBIs last year?
