  1. I just watched the bottom of the 9th of Game 7 again and holy horsefeathers that was more nerve wracking than I forgot. Chapman had nothing, and Kipnis had a great at-bat (worked a full count, just missed dumping one in the RF corner, had some good hacks, swung and missed at ball 4) and really got bailed out by the Kipnis K and Lindor popping out on the first pitch.
  2. now imagine what it will look like when he's not facing 75 mph fastballs down the pipe
  3. lol "hate guys like duffy who are good but have an injury history lets get mark appel who sucks and has an injury history"
  4. the really old one or the one who's missing an arm? the latter (actually more accurately i believe he is missing a rib now) nice he did the marilyn manson. living the dream my man
  5. just started laughing when i remembered that Schwarber missed 99 percent of the season, took like 10,000 swings in a cage and then lit the Indians up in the World Series
  6. joe has earned a few "look the other ways" at this point where you just say "uhhh dont do it again" and move on.
  7. "¡Ese es mi brazo de perforación!"
  8. a normal honest answer is to not admit you horsefeathers up in the world series win what are you saying mistakes aren't mistakes as long as the outcome is good or what are you saying DOES NOT COMPUTE
  9. his swing is IDENTICAL, that's hilarious
  10. these are funny responses given that the general theme in game 6 and game 7 was that maddon needed to be fired because of how he handled chapman and the end of those two games.
  11. Why would the astros give up Reed and Musgrove for only Odorizzi?
  12. He was # 24 for most of his stops in the minors but Valbuena had that. Umber when Soler came up to the big leagues. "horsefeathers kneeling and horsefeathers oaths, I've got a number for you."
  13. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2015/7/1/8859137/thoracic-outlet-syndrome-pitcher-effectiveness Woof, that is horsefeathering damning.
  14. maybe the white sox are cutting them a break since they got such a good deal in the sale/eaton trades

  16. Hahahahhaha oh my god
  17. Dexter Folwer hit a leadoff home run in a Game 7 we ultimately won. He could sign with ISIS and I'd love him forever.
  18. look at it this way, he's only going to be good for probably two years of the contract, and they're not going to be as good as us during that period anyway. Then in the final three years when he's hitting .210 and confined to a COF spot, he'll be soaking up $18m of their payroll.
  19. it's nothing like that really Sure it is No
  20. It's over, motherhorsefeathers :(
  21. I'm surprised Polanco was a net zero on defense. Damn. But there you go. And baserunning too
  22. Searching for guys who were net zeroes on defense last year, I came up with Mike Trout (lol), Johnathan Schoop, and Gregory Polanco Polanco is interesting because his numbers look like what you could hope for from a healthy Soler (.258/.323/.463) and he was worth 2.5 WAR
  23. Yeah, but Trumbo's defense brought that down a lot. We're not counting that. Soler will probably walk more, too. And I don't think Javy can pull off what he did again. That was a freakish and probably flukish defensive contribution. My basic idea here is that Javy had a lot go right (both purposely and accidentally) to get to his WAR total and will be exposed as his role is expanded. I have no idea if what he did defensively is repeatable but I definitely doubt it. (FWIW, I voted Javy, but I think it's a lot closer than this poll result suggests) Oops, I didn't realize that, i was under the impression trumbo was primarily a DH
  24. Mark Trumbo hit 47 bombs last year and finished with 2.2 WAR. Baez had just 450 PA, walked 3 percent of the time (lol) and finished with 2.7. I'm gonna go with Javy
  25. horsefeathers this is a good post
