    Look, he's a cool-ass dude, he gave the president a pair of swaggy Jordans, he hit a leadoff homer in Game 7 of the World Series, and he still calls the Cubs his family. I'm just putting this into words before he inevitably has a few good games against us while Heyward struggles and we all start to get pissed off.

    So it's ok for him to be away from his mother-in-law to spend a couple days in Chicago for the Convention but not to visit the White House? Gordon Wittenmyer said he left the convention early, so I don't think Jake was full of horsefeathers for his reason not to go to the White House leaving the convention early is something every reasonable adult should attempt to do. Missing a meeting with the President is not.

    2010 looked like a normal stance and swing, 2012 was a goofy stance but the swing was still fluid.

    there's a difference between an ugly stance (heyward in the 2012 video) and an ugly swing (heyward now.) the vast vast vast vast majority of "guys with ugly swings" are not anywhere near successful.

    you know that hitting a baseball is a horsefeathering tough task when someone as athletic as heyward looks like that while swinging at balls that aren't even moving.

    Never been to Vegas, but we went through Reno as a kid and stayed at Circus Circus, and I remember loving the arcade there. Thus ends my Circus Circus story. When we go to Vegas we always would stay at this awful hotel/casino called the riviera - long story, but basically they let us stay for free as long as we wanted. Anyway, Im watching the new Bourne movie and he crashes a car right into the shitty casino there! I was like wtf. Then I googled it and it turns out they had to destroy the Riv so they let Bourne trash it for his movie. EDIT: I forgot the reason I told this story is because the Riv was right next to circus circus. First time I went to vegas, my friend (a portly dude) was like "we gotta go to circus circus once so you can eat the $1 footlong hot dogs!" he was so lit it was hilarious. We get there and they've replaced the hot dog stand with a subway. He was so mad I found him sitting down at a virtual dog-racing game yelling at the video game dogs.

    strange comp since eloy has been pretty allergic to walks, but i guess if they're super high on his hit tool there's not much else to compare him to when you put it that way...vlad? that's kind of what i had in my mind, but it's almost more preposterous than manny because vlad was just such a freak
