  1. Williams is already in AAA.
  2. I'd actually have been happier with Millwood at 12 million per year and no Miller than Rusch and Neifi.
  3. Tomorrow Also, rusch 03=Estes 03 I never thought I'd say this, but your disrespecting Estes.
  4. Everybody seems to be pissed we took all defensive players and ignored offense, specifically tight end, when there were quality ones available to us at various points.
  5. Agreed. If used properly, he could be a good innings eating garbage man, but the only problem with that is that there will not be very many situations for him to come in since we wouldn't have him in the rotation anymore.
  6. really??? sweet...maybe we can rid ourselves of JA finally......... Yeah, pick up two bottles of Jack, a disposable camera and a live chicken, and we'll meet Dusty for a celebration party.
  7. Oh yeah, one more gem from Angelo. He talked about how the DT we took, Dusty Dvoracek, had all kinds of alcohol problems, but that he would personally put himself on the line to vouch for his character.
  8. Tiger, you're not counting that Wuertz outing where he got 2 outs and gave up 2 hits against St. Louis, are you? I forgot about that. Well, just bring up Wuertz then. He's the best of the three guys I mentioned.
  9. He didn't define "need", but he and Lovie both said that because of the good players we have throughout the team, they didn't feel they were "held hostage" by a certain position they had to fill in the draft, so they took the guys they liked. They said these three players have some sort of intangible "competitiveness" that very few players in the draft had, and that no players left in the draft have because the Bears took the last three available. He said some people might think not taking a tight end is a "head scratcher" but since it isn't a need position, he decided not to take one because he is happy with the tight ends on the roster already.
  10. I just went to pick up a pizza and I heard the Angelo press conference on the score. He said he didn't address tight end because it wasn't a "need" and he doesn't think we have any "need" positions on offense. He said he is very happy with the offensive player we already have and took the best available players to help the defense since there wasn't one specific position on the team that was a "need".
  11. So what do we go for next, DE or another DB?
  12. http://www.desipio.com/images/angelo_jerry.jpg He's smiling and laughing his ass off at all of us right now.
  13. YES, more defense!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bloody vomit:
  14. in the immortal words of Hawk...HE GAWWWWWWWWN I fear 14 picks. No way he makes it through: Jacksonville Denver Houston (twice) Green Bay St.Louis Oakland Buffalo NYJ Arizona We're screwed. What makes you think the Bears would even take him if he fell to us again?
  15. Pope is 6'8" Let's together imagine how amazing that would be on short yard situations/goal line plays....wow. I know, too good to be true. Now, a dose of reality. http://images.sportsline.com/u/photos/football/nfl/img7674337.jpg
  16. And the sad thing is, after watching our defense get torn a new one by Carolina, the DBs were probably "need picks" and we could probably use another one. Still, get a friggin' tight end. The Bears love short passes but always put some bum in at TE, and no, I don't care that Clark was a probowler last year.
  17. Angelo's philosophy is to draft, sign and trade for all defensive and special teams players. He thinks that is how you win football games.
  18. I hate when Angelo trades high picks, and then he takes sacks of crap like Benson when he keeps one.
  19. 8 innings Furthermore, over 6 of those innings are very solid work, with a couple of poor outings skewing the numbers. Show me because I don't see them in the game logs. And btw, I count about 15 innings, not 8.
  20. 7.2 combined poor innings this year, 120 combined good innings last year. Meanwhile, guys like Lightenberg have done what what Wuertz and Aardsma have done this year - done well at AAA - but what's to say Kerry's going to suddenly have a big league resurgence? If he doesn't, we haven't lost anything.
  21. Everytime one of those three come in, they stink. Obviously they need to work something out in the minors. They can start with control.
  22. Yellow Submarine was written as a children's song and was never meant to be taken seriously. You won't see it on any greatest songs ever list, so it's hard to imagine how that song could be used to show that the beatles were overhyped. It's a popular song, but nobody would argue that it's some brilliant song. I once heard a DJ on the radio say it was a metaphor for communism...
  23. Novoa has done ok and should stay but Ohman, Aardsma and Wuertz have all been awful and we can't depend on Howry, Eyre and Williamson to pitch every game. How about sending Ohman and Aardsma down for Williams and Kerry Ligtenberg. Put Williams in the rotation and Rusch in the pen as garbage man if we have to keep him on the roster because of his contract.
  24. I don't expect a trade now that he was picked. The Saints fans deserve a good team.
  25. Remlinger and Hawkins were arguably the best bullpen arms when we signed them. Bullpen arms are very unpredictable, and thus very risky signings. Brian giles is very predictable, and not much of a risky signing. Jacque Jones is also predictable, and the difference in Giles' production and Jones' is easier to predict, and also more important to the success of this team. How is an old player anymore predictable than a bullpen arm.
