  1. I've watched you a couple times this year, love Myke Henry, where the hell do you guys go from here? I thought Purnell might be able to make it work there, but that clearly isn't the case. Until they fire the AD and put a focus on athletics as a university (facilities, etc...), they won't get a decent coach in there and will probably be kicked out of the Big East when the TV contract is up in 8 years. There is close to 0 administration/board of trustees interest in athletics and the most apathetic fan base out there, the practice facilities are complete garbage, and the only reason they can recruit anyone is their location and opportunity for kids to think they are playing in a major conference. It's a dumpster fire.
  2. Sounds like the feelings of Purdue fans right now. I'd kill someone to have the past 25 years of Purdue basketball instead of DePaul's
  3. So, DePaul started 6-1 and are now 6-6 and have been blown out 4 times in the past week. If they don't fire the AD and everyone else down from there, they might as well disband the program. Jerkoffs.
  4. Interesting. I'd like to see how Noah/Gibson have fared in the past. Maybe they are negative this year because they are so similar as players and they miss out on the added offensive punch of having Gasol/Mirotic in there?
  5. So, Bulls vs. Golden State in the finals? That would be awesome.
  6. Vikings win 45-42, Cutty with 6 TDs. Done. Bears pin the troubles entirely on Tucker, Trestman stays. :( Trestman is gone. Bears could win 99-0 and he would still get fired.

  8. I got like three solid weeks of fantasy action from Sexy Rexy in 2011. It was great. Also I don't blame him for turning down that one week gig. If you're already in vacation mode, you gotta do better than 50k. That's probably like $500 in normal person money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, not to mention it's a meaningless game. If the Browns weren't eliminated from the playoffs, he probably takes the money for the chance at playing in the playoffs. Then again, he basically admitted tanking against the Packers because it was New Year's Eve and he was ready to start drinking, so who knows?
  9. Wouldn't Myers coming to us make sense? Maddon and Hoyer have connections with the principals and if Myers wrist is satisfactory, isn't he the kind of guy the Cubs are eagerly collecting? In a three-way deal, Alcantara, Castillo, Wood and Castro for Myers and Hamels? Myers can't play CF and barely average corner OF. The Phils have no OF prospects and want to get younger. Would Castro and Almora be enough for Hamels? We should probably throw in Baez and Valbuena too. If the Cubs got Myers and Hamels for Alcantara, Castillo, Wood, and Castro, they would probably have to have an FBI investigation for stealing things. LOL. With Baez and Valbuena in there, it STARTS to become realistic.
  10. Cutler. Trestman already announced it. You know Cutler is going to tear his ACL or something, killing both his trade value AND ability to contribute to the Bears next season. [expletive] Emery & Trestman. Just start Fales. There's not even a fake "we need to play our best guys because the game has playoff implications" scenario here. This organization sucks. Oh, and Fales will come in to lead the Bears to victory, make meatball fans think he's good, and move the Bears down 4-5 spots in the draft.

  12. Yes, the 2000 Ravens were actually a 4-3 defense (nobody seems to remember) and he was on that staff. He also was the Ravens DC when they were still 4-3 in 2006 and switched to 3-4 in 2007-09. Throw in his dad as the DC of the 85 Bears, and Rex has been around the best two 4-3 defense in the history of football. He can coach any defensive scheme he wants and be damn good at it. Now let's go get a [expletive] snack!
  13. I know that Bowles is the hot coordinator coaching candidate this year, but are we really going to go back to a defensive HC? If you're going the defensive coach route, why not Rex Ryan? His GM has given him absolute [expletive] to work with on offense and they've been pretty competitive every year except this one. The problem with both Rex and Bowles is that they run 3-4 defenses. Why is that a problem? The Bears don't have a ton of talent on defense and are going to have a lot of turnover on the roster anyway. The signs point to them being bad next year anyway, so that gives them 2 years to rebuild the defense.

  15. Yeah, WTF? Useless backup catchers are Theo's only Hendry-like problem.
  16. David Ross to the Padres. Yes! =D> Looks like our catching platoon is pretty set!
  17. this is a pretty emphatic no he's earning $15m more than Fitzpatrick, who can easily be argued has outproduced him...without the benefit of hindsight, try cutting $13m in players off the Texans and then look at their roster with Cutler saying Cutler's a top-20 QB and it's not his fault the defense is so bad misses a huge component of the problem; similarly productive QBs like Orton, Fitzpatrick, Hill usually don't take up much cap space at all and you're left with so much more capability to fill in holes And to be specific on the Texans here, If they had Cutler, they probably HAD to trade Andre or something to be able to extend Watt. I don't think they would've been able to give Watt that deal if Cutler was with the Texans on the same deal. All fair points, especially the money, though Cutler is far better than Orton/Fitz/Hill. Aren't the Cardinals paying Carson Palmer about the same as Cutler? Cutler could do just as well as Palmer, if not better, with the Cardinals D and Bruce Arians as the coach.
  18. Love it. The meatballs are gonna have an aneurysm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, if this is a troll move, I couldn't be more in favor of it. Good for the Bears. I wonder what the reason is? Is he heavily involved with charity work that I'm not aware of? Or are the McCaskey's also against vaccinating children? I remember a few years back a story about Cutler being really involved with juvenile diabetes but not advertising it at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Good for him, that's pretty cool. He's an extremely interesting/different guy.

  20. If that anything is a 3rd round pick they sure as [expletive] better not let him go. On one hand, moving Cutler might be good for both he and the Bears. I'm the other had: Henry Burris. I'd rather start with a new HC If you don't trust your new GM to find a QB, then you've hired the wrong guy. Being satisfied with a QB that is clearly between 10-20 in the NFL with no real chance of being a top-5 QB, then you HAVE to have great talent around him and a great defense. That's the thing with Cutler, if he were on the Texans, wouldn't they be easily in the playoffs? But when it's basically all on him, it doesn't seem to be working well. Being afraid to let Cutler go because there are a lot of QB situations worse than him is fine and totally a defensible position/argument, but I just don't know if that's a great reason to keep him around. Good is the enemy of great, right?
  21. I think the time has come for me to finally stop defending Cutler to my family and friends. He's still a top 15-20 NFL QB, but this situation is just toxic. Could he win a Super Bowl someday? Probably, but it would have to have everything else perfect. If they can get anything for him this offseason, I'd rather just see him go. Never thought I'd say that. [expletive] sports.
  22. A production meeting at 5am? Most of these shows do production meetings before they go on the air so they can plan out guests/segments/etc. And since the show starts at 5am... I've always been under the impression that the really early morning shows just have people show up and go on the air. Asking for a meeting in advance of one of those is a killer. I would imagine they do a lot more the day before than other timeslots so they don't have to be there at 3:00 AM, but with so many of the things they talk about likely happening the night before, they would have to get their act together a bit before going on air.
  23. I didn't see it, but I guess they unveiled a statue of Kerry Wood soaked in apete6's urine or something. It will help him hunt the homeless in Wrigleyville.
  24. Anyway, Lester was about as you would expect during the press conference. Didn't "wow" anyone or necessarily "win" the press conference, but he did fine and likely won't be bothered by the pressure with his experience in Boston. Just looking forward to seeing the guy pitch and pretty damn excited for the season.
  25. Gotta say, I love Lester getting #34--hopefully it will help some of the false Kerry Wood hero worship from Cubs fans and hopefully ends any chance of it ever being retired for a guy whose on-field stats don't come close to earning that honor. Nothing against Woody, but those are just facts. scorching hot facts Cubs fans overrate Kerry Wood. Not sure what objective measure you can come up with, but I'm about 99% sure it's true. Look, the guy is responsible for 3 or 4 unbelievable moments and 3 or 4 outstanding seasons, but he in no way, shape, or form, deserves to have his number retired, but you'll find people arguing for it.
