  1. There's really no point in arguing with this guy. He's always right, and anyone who thinks differently is clueless. Seriously, this act has been going on for like 2 years, and it's getting old. Fortunately, he'll probably end up doing something to get banned again.
  2. One of my favorite moments of the year is the game at Wrigley in August when the Cubs were absolutely teeing off on Backe, and then Soriano hit a homer and immediately after the ball hit the bat, Backe just throws his arms in the air, like "I give up". A GIF of that would be awesome.
  3. I was telling my girlfriend how disgusted I was with this team, yet how I can't wait for tonight's game to start. Being a Cubs fan is like having an incurable disease. The thing is, I just don't feel like I shouldn't be watching this team for a few more games. This is the best team I've ever seen as a Cub fan, and I think an amazing run starts tonight. Call me crazy, but It's just not the time for the Cubs to stop playing baseball. 11 wins to go, let's do it.
  4. So, I noticed that the Mets fans have a nickname for Oliver Perez. It's "Big Game Ollie". Um, where the hell did they come up with that? What big game has he ever won? Maybe I'm forgetting something.
  5. I would have hated to see you after the Victor Diaz loss, or the Playoff losses last year, or any of the number of losses the Cubs have suffered in agonizing fashion over the years. But, yeah, this was an aggravating loss, thanks to the horrendous umpiring, and the mid 90's Braves pitchers treatment Brett Myers received. you're seriously picking the wrong person to do this to I know you're level-headed. I read every game thread. It was just kind of a throw it out there comment, because I've wanted to throw stuff over losses much worse than this.

  7. Seriously, we need to take this in as much as possible. Who knows if we'll ever see anything quite like this season again? I'ts been absolutely unbelieveable so far.
  8. It would probably consist of Fontenot running Z's errands all day long, and then Z just pushing and playing practical jokes on Fontenot when he got bored.
  9. I played little league with Schlitter, and he threw about 75 MPH when he was 12 years old. Hopefully, he performs well.
  10. The Brewers had a dugout fight last year too. Bottom line is that dugout fights don't mean anything. You get hot because you're good at baseball, not because a 300 pound fatass attacks his teammate.( I will now refer to Prince as "fatass" from now on because Brewernet doesn't like it)
  11. I can't wait for the 2nd half to start. Great video.
  12. Jermaine Dye deserved to go as much as Joe Crede didn't deserve to go, so I don't know what theyre crying about. And WTF would Cubs fans vote for Longoria? Do they really think we have nothing better to do than stuff the box for Longoria? Then again, WSI isn't the best place for an intelligent opinion.
  13. Anybody remember the last number 40 to be traded to the Cubs Mid-season? Yeah, let's hope it turns out just as well.
  14. Great, we get to hear Brennaman openly root against the Cubs. How annoying.
  15. All I want is for the Cubs to sweep this pathetic, trash talking, low class organization. I've never really cared about the Sox or anything they did, but after all the cheap shot comments by everyone from their players to their front office, I wish them nothing but bad luck.
  16. I was just looking through the Rays' individual statistics and I noticed Jason Bartlett has 229 AB's this year and 5 Extra base hits. 5! His slugging percentage is .275. That is beyond Neifi Perez and Jose Macias awful.
  17. And right on Cue.
  18. Sheets instead of Dave Bush. Another break for the Cubs!
  19. Chet Coppock, on ESPN Radio's Talking Baseball, said that Joe Crede should be AL Player of the Month. .268/.322/.537. Yep, overvalued juuuuuust a tad.
  20. I'd be undefeated if I had showed some faith in the Big Ten.
  21. I have USC in the Final Four and Siena to beat Vanderbilt. Otherwise, nothing too crazy besides a couple of 10's, 11's, and 12's winning.
  22. 1.) Willie Mays' catch in the 1954 World Series. I know everyone seems to think this was some sort of miraculous play but I'm pretty sure I saw Nyger Morgan do this 2 or 3 times last year and a countless number of other players do this the past few years. 2.) Derek Jeter's catch while falling into the stands. The guy caught the ball on the foul line and then proceeded to run 10 feet and jump into the crowd. If this wasn't Jeter, it gets a top 10 highlight on Sportscenter and then falls into anonymity. 3.) Derek Jeter's flip. Okay, I'm not picking on Jeter, but seriously, all he did was run towards a ball that airmailed the cutoff man and flip the ball to the catcher. If Jeremy Giambi slides, you never see that play again. Those are three that I thought of off the top of my head. Anyone else have some?
  23. Well, maybe this will stop all the Aramis doesn't hustle, and Aramis doesn't care crap that we have to endure from Couch and Sullivan all year.
  24. Boy, I saw that this thread had jumped to 7 pages, and I said to myself, "Someone just got an NSBB beatdown", and I was not disappointed at all. Nice work, everyone.
  25. Here ya go: 3 of those teams were swept in the first round of the playoffs. The only team that wasn't was the '87 Twins. They won the World Series
