  1. Let's hope this game ends the same way this game did. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200706290.shtml Of course with someone other than Aramis ending it.
  2. Well, two years ago today was the Aramis walkoff. One of the most exciting games I've witnessed the Cubs today. And just for fun, I went back and looked at the game thread from that game. The difference between our enthusiasm for the Cubs that year and this year is amazing. I guess it has to do with this year the Cubs coming off back to back divisions, and in 2007 coming off a horrid 3 years. The joy of everyone in that thread is really something though.
  3. I like him a little, jsut for the entertainment value. I wouldn't want him as my manager...though like you, I think there's worse managers out there. I don't understand finding entertainment in having your team's manager act like a total ass at all times and repeat childish insults about other fans bases. I mean, I wouldn't find it entertaining if Lou criticized Milwaukee or Stl. He's a crap manager who gets all sorts of nonsensical praise for making things happen all because he managed the Sox in a season when their starting pitchers were healthy and at their best and their hitters nailed a bunch of big homeruns. They haven't done crap since then but it doesn't matter because he knows how baseball is supposed to be played, and he swears a lot. This should be posted on the faces of every Sox fan and every dumbass baseball reporter in this town and in the country. I couldn't have said it better.
  4. The baseball writing in this town is downright pathetic. Phil Rogers is just a complete buffoon. As Abuck said, they are all writing about the gritty Getz and The young Beckham, and how Ozzie got into Z's head. It's junior high writing. A game was played and the Sox won it. It's not because Guillen is some kind of mind reader or Chris Getz is some gritty young ballplayer. It's because the Cubs didn't score and the Sox did. Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less from the idiots that write in this town.
  5. Except that he's won more than 14 games 3 different times. Never mind the fact that hitting Wise would have absolutely nothing to do with him not winning 14 games. What an idiotic booth the White Sox have. A whining, hillbilly moron and an arrogant, bitter know-it-all. I don't know how Sox fans can deal with them. Well, maybe I do.
  6. Isn't he the guy that predicted Zambrano would give Milton Bradley a black guy? I wonder if he has yet.
  7. Holy crap. Imagine the reaction here if Theriot was throwing the ball like Ramirez.
  8. Mike Fontenot folks. The new Juan Pierre. Groundball to 2nd. Rinse and repeat.
  9. Problem is, Bradley really hasnt been struggling lately. He hasnt lived up to expectaions, but hes been doing fine for himself. He's 0-10 with 4 K's in his last 10 PA In Bradley's last 13 PA's, he has a .538 OBP. I don't get the benching.
  10. Hmm. I was expecting to see Randy Wells on that list. I guess this guy considers wins more important than anything, considering Matt Palmer and his 4.70 ERA was on there.
  11. Boy, it's starting to feel like 2008 again. Not only with the actual team but with the game threads also. Nice to see everyone excited about Cubs baseball again.
  12. I wonder if they would consider a 2 game, 2 ballpark, 1 day extravaganza like the Yankees and Mets played a few years back. I don't know how likely that is but I think it would be kind of cool. Maybe they could do it next Friday or Saturday?
  13. Wasn't Soriano a member of the Yankees in 2000? and didn't he hit what should have been the GW home run in game 7 of the 2001 World Series? This will look funny after he goes on one of his 3 week tears and hits 10 home runs. Then again, the same complaining will happen after he hits .100 and strikes out 30 times in a week. Like someone said, the guy is a streaky player and we just have to live with it.
  14. Yea, it's great that we can run out our career minor leaguer, and a sub par hitter against righties instead of Bradley, the guy who's hitting over .300 the last 2 weeks and led the league in OPS last year. The reactions of some people on here are so ridiculous it's not even funny.
  15. LOL. Almost 2 years to the day of this..... http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN200705170.shtml
  16. That's exactly what I was thinking. How awesome has this been for him? Tearing the cover off the ball and now scoring the game winning walk-off run. He just looks like he's having the greatest time of his life. And I say good for him. 10 years in the minors, and from all reports, a really good guy. He definitely deserves it.
  17. Remember when Dale Hunter destroyed Pierre Turgeon after Turgeon scored the game winner, in what I think was a game 7? He got suspended 21 games, but it probably should have been more.
  18. http://inspireaction.mindandmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/bug_eyed_woman.jpg
  19. LOL@ the Brewers announcers criticizing someone's defense when they have Braun patrolling left field. The guy makes Soriano look like a gold glover out there.
  20. He also won the award for home run trot most resembling a 12 year old girl who just hit a game winning homer. I can't wait until this turd takes one in the ribs after another one of his fairy prances around the bases.
  21. I don't know if any of you guys saw this or heard about it, but on Saturday night, with the Sox up 1 run in the 9th inning, Bobby Jenks threw a pitch behind Ian Kinsler. There had been White Sox getting hit by Rangers pitchers the whole weekend, so the home plate umpire issued a warning after Jenks' pitch. This sent Hawk into a fury. He basically called it bullcrap and said the umpire had no clue what was going on. Of course, Stone, being the all-knowing baseball genius he is, agreed with Hawk and said it would make no sense for Jenks to be throwing at a hitter intentionally in the 9th inning of a 1 run game. Well, Hawk and Stoney....looks like you guys were wrong. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-11-sox-brite-chicagomay11,0,2133168.story
  22. Braun needs to be drilled in his next at-bat. Freakin' bush league crap from this guy since he entered the league. The damn ball didn't even hit him. It hit his bat.
  23. LOL Garnett just walked off after the game with that stupid scowl on his face without shaking hands. You'd figure with all the cheerleading he did during the series that he'd be involved enough to shake hands after a great, hard fought series. Even that turd Rondo did. Oh, and the Celtics did not clearly prove they were a better team. If these teams played 100 times, it would probably be 50-50. (Without Garnett)
  24. I just looked at Gordon's "2" on Tivo and it was a blatant missed call. He was at least a foot behind the 3 point line. The Bulls should have an extra point.
  25. come on, we've played 1/12 of the season and we're on pace to win 92-93 games. At this time last year, we were 9-5, and in 2007 we were 5-9. Let these guys play a few more weeks before we start crucifying everybody.
