  1. Delgado is either hurt or ain't coming back, that bat is too slow right now. I've had a feeling he was on his way out for a couple years now.
  2. Gosh it warms my heart so much to see Ronny get a curtain call. Awesome!
  3. I think you have a point. Most of their struggling players will pick it up at least a little bit, but I can easily see a lot of them regressing quite a bit from last year (though I'm not banking on it). (1)Fielder had a monster year last year, but he might regress closer to his 06 numbers. (2)Braun will end up being good, but maybe not nearly as good as last year. (3)Weeks has only had 1 good year. (4)Hart may regress a decent amount from last year. (5)Hardy will almost certainly not put up the power numbers he did last year. (6)Hall has had one good year and one pretty good year. They have a lot of potential but a lot of question marks - especially if Sheets ends up being out for awhile. 1. He probably won't hit 50 home runs again, but to say he will come closer to 28 seems a little harsh, and only 81 RBIs? No, Don't see that happening. At his time last year he had only 2 home runs. 2. I could see this, however he also is playing his 1st full year in the majors this year, we didn't have him till May 25th last year. 3. This is such a tricky subject, Rickie walks so much, but he just doesn't trust his wrists. He has a chance to be a damn good player, im leaving this on imcomplete. 4. NO. This one you are wrong. Corey Hart didn't become a full time starter till end of April last year, He had a decent year last year and he will only get better. 5. Okay I will give you this one, no on saw that one coming thats for sure. 26 last year was alot of home runs for him, I could see 15-20 this year and be happy with it. 6. He is quickly becoming Adam Dunn without the walks, and with a better defense. I see him hitting around 35 home runs this year, however only hitting like .255. I see what your point is, but I could sit here and say how I think player X for the Cubs is going to regress also if I wanted. This should be a fun summer. My point was that most of the Brewers players aren't very proven. There were a lot of career years last year. The thing is, they're young, so its hard to tell. They could be a lot better, they could be a decent amount worse.

  5. I want to treat 2004 the way Germany treats the 30's/40's. "NOTHING HAPPENED! WE WERE ON VACATION!" Family Guy reference aside, I can't believe that group of players didn't dominate the league. Sosa, Alou, Lee, Nomar, Ramirez, Barrett, Walker, Prior, Wood, Zambrano, Clement, Maddux. How does that happen? This year is no where near the expectations of 2004.
  6. I don't like being Fukudomeless, but...MURTON!!!!
  7. More info please
  8. I was in Cincy for the clinching game last year when we were roughing them up pretty good. Me and my friends were being very laid back and barely even cheering because we had really crappy seats. That didn't stop some idiot Reds fans behind us from talking about Rex Grossman's superbowl performance non-stop because apparently they assumed we were Bears fans. Funny thing is, we were from Indianapolis and fans of the team that benefited from Rex Grossman's superbowl performance.
  9. But every fan base has obnoxious tools. If the Cubs do have more than most other fan bases, it's only because they also have a bigger fan base to sample from. Exactly. When people name obnoxious fan bases, they say Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs. What do those fan bases have in common? Seems to me that the smaller market fans just want to make themselves feel better.
  10. That's really really depressing to think about. Don't forget about Juan Cruz at the #5 spot. The guy has Pedro-like stuff. He still has that stuff, his K/9 is sick. I don't know why he has never gotten a real chance to start in the bigs. Yeah, he has been somewhat successful. I was more commenting on the lost hope of that group of pitchers.

  12. Unfortunately, one of the better options is in AAA because the Cubs didn't need another left fielder. Yes, its very stupid that Murton isn't up, but even ignoring that stupidity there's also DeRosa, Fukudome, Johnson, Soto.
  13. I'm late to the party and this has probably been commented on plenty, but Fontenot/Theriot at 1-2 is bringing back bad memories of Patterson/Perez. We have many better options.
  14. Where did that come from anyway? I think its from before my time.
  15. going to your mouth on the mound is an automatic ball for the hitter. I was trying to think of a possibility, too. So technically, you could get 3 outs without throwing any pitches if you have a killer pick off move.
  16. Awesome, Felix will have somebody to keep him company on the bench. This move is so many kinds of genius.
  17. This is why: .175/.230/.298 Don't forget: .335/.418/.662 (Lee's 2005) I was pretty sick, too. In layman's terms, Lee is better at playing baseball.
  18. uh yeah, the pirates never in a million years had a chance at getting david wright for kris benson. I don't doubt that the Pirates asked for him, but I very much doubt they turned him down and opted for Wigginton.
  19. I think its boring that batters only get hits about 27% of the time. There should only be like 3 fielders (pitcher, catcher, and middle-fielder). What would be more exciting: a boring outfielder catching a boring fly ball, or a middle-fielder in a dead sprint trying to chase down a bloop before the hitter gets an inside the park homerun? I think the answer is obvious. Strategy is boring. There should also be a tiger roving free on the field at all times. And each team should get a handgun with one bullet that they can use at any point during the game.
  20. Unfortunately, I think the 2nd option is much more likely.
  21. 1.) The Carlos Lee for Scott Podsednik trade did not help the White Sox. 2.) The White Sox are no more real than the A's or the Orioles right now. Are you kidding me? He was their leadoff man. I guarantee the Cubs would take vintage 2005 Scott Podsednik in a heartbreat. here it comes
  22. Neifi...He saved us once, he can do it again.
  23. I can't believe we won that. Thanks for all the updates that last half inning. Yahoo picked a bad time to start crapping all over the place.
