  1. Well, to be honest, I really don't see Lilly being #2 in the playoffs even if we didn't acquire another starter. I still see your point, though. I'm still holding out hope to end the season with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Hill, Dempster, Lilly. I don't have much, if any, faith that Rich Hill will figure out a damn thing this year. He's done for 2008, IMO. Don't take this away from me.
  2. DAMN IT!! I was tivo'ing that, thanks for ruining it. JK lol <3 :-&

  4. I just realized I post on here way more on nights when I have a lot of homework. I'm such a screw up.
  5. I still wouldn't mind if he could call him "our little guy" ooooh right around August 1st. Why? DeRosa has been better. No, he hasn't. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting?sort=avg&split=0&league=mlb&season=2008&seasonType=2&type=reg&ageMin=17&ageMax=51&minpa=0&hand=a&pos=2b&startDate=null&endDate=null At best DeRo and BRob would have been comparable this yr at 2B. Not an upgrade, in that since. He hasn't been as better as it would have cost to get him. Sheesh, I'm getting Carlos Mencia'ed tonight.
  6. Hey jerk, I just made a post like that a little bit ago. But you forgot to mention Z and Soriano on the DL and Pie at Mesa. Pie got busted to Mesa? Ouch. When did this happen? I think he hurt his hand or something.
  7. I'm not too worried about Lilly. He's been steadily improving each month, with a 2.70 ERA in June. He just needs to cut down on the walks and homeruns.

  9. I still wouldn't mind if he could call him "our little guy" ooooh right around August 1st. Why? DeRosa has been better. I think Roberts numbers are better now, but not...better enough?...to trade a lot to get Roberts.
  10. Before the season, imagine if you would have known that on June 25 Hill and Pie would be in Mesa, Lilly would have a 4.80 ERA, Zambrano and Soriano would be on the DL, and we'd be 19 games over .500. Knowing all of those except the record, I'd have thought it'd be season over.
  11. HA! Our secret scoreboard signals are paying dividends already.
  12. What's this less than 20 games above .500 crap? Lets knock this off immediately.
  13. Keep reading a bit, I'm sure you'll find plenty of that stuff here too. Except not Hilarious that we bust out that 'best fans in baseball' line to mock Cards fans all the time, and then make posts like this. Here on nsbb we treat opposing teams' fans with nothing but respect. True story. Nobody said that. Danonwaveland was talking about calling other teams by stupid names like flubs and white Sox. I very rarely see that. And compared to other boards I've seen, nsbb seems to be much more "mature" when talking about other teams.
  14. Buster Olney was suppose to have something about this on Sports Center, but I turned the TV off after PTI. Did anybody see that? I doubt he said anything new, but I thought I'd check.

  16. Very small sample size with Vitters, but still very good to see. He's still only 18, right?
  17. Serious question: Is that really an advantage? Is there actual evidence for that?
  18. Why Pie? He was just starting to turn it around.
  19. Look beyond the last 3 months. Wright's significantly better (than ARam) in each of the last 3 seasons. I still don't see how anyone can say they are "close." Wright: 05: .912 06: .912 07: .963 08: .841 Ramirez: 05: .926 06: .912 07: .915 08: .934 I'd say they're extremely close offensively. I'd call it a wash. I don't know how good Wright is defensively, but if Aramis is better like people are saying, then I'd give the nod to him for overall better 3B.
  20. And don't look now, but the Tigers are actually not sucking lately and within 5 games. I think they were about 9 out a week ago.
  21. The horrors of tourists coming to Chicago and actually visiting a part of baseball history. I don't think anyone was intimidated, dude, just ignoring you while celebrating a Cubs win. A concept which seems foreign to a majority of Sox fans - celebrating your team's victory instead of rubbing it in your opponent's face. That person is winner from head to toe.
