  1. It seems like every week Colt McCoy is questioned by people. He is easily the best freshman QB in the nation.
  2. Missouri isn't doing too well today so it's not surprising to not hear anything from the posters that go there. It's hard to root for OU, but I am today. Missouri looks very avg. and like an Alamo Bowl team or worse. They shouldn't expect to win next week either.
  3. From what I have read (a long time ago), the USSF is not exactly straped for cash. Money should not be a problem.
  4. Same here. Oddly enough, I don't really have strong feelings against the other NL Central teams outside of the Cardinals and the Astros. I don't know know why, but seeing the Brewers, Pirates or Reds win it all wouldn't get to me as much as the other two. The Cardinals are the Cardinals, and the Astros have been above average to great since the mid 1990s. The other 3 have been mostly bad for 20 years with a few exceptions (hey, kinda like us!) What I want to know is why fans of every team in the NL Central have this bitter hate for us for some reason. I can't speak for the MidWest, but in Texas and in Houston the Cubs have always been liked and had a lot of support. Astros fans hate the Cards far more than any other team.
  5. I have no problem with Bonds getting a 1 year 6-8 million deal. He still has plenty of Wrigley HR's left in him IMO. Hell I would smuggle the juice over for him if thats what he needed to hit.
  6. I don't know why, but I have always expected Garcia to become an injury prone pitcher at some point. Signing with the Cubs would make my prediction come true.
  7. So do we have 15 days now until the FA period begins?
  8. What day are they expecting to announce who won the rights to Matsuzaka?
  9. This would be huge for the US. Hopefully the USSF remembers how to negotiate a contract and doesn't lowball him. There is no reason he should not be the US coach for the next 4 years.
  10. Reading today that an NL GM said they were guessing the over/under of 32 million as the posting fee. That seems high, but its going to take a minimum of $20 million. I think its hard for any team not named the Yankees to be overly optimistic.
  11. Yeah in a heartbeat. Doubt they would put in that much though.
  12. First: Anybody who is bidding for Matsuzaka, is MORE then likely going to sign him to play for their team. Or why bid? Second: As mention, I think that would be a HORRIBLE manuever to "spend $50 mill" on a player who said team had no interests in signing. Third: If said team was going to waste said money, why not use the money to acquire players that can ACTUALLY help you, instead of using the money to block a player from a team you don't want him to go to? I doubt a situation you "mentioned", KCtigers, will happen. You only spend the $50 million if you sign him. If you have no intention of signing him then you lose nothing. That was his point, you can make a very high bid with no intention of signing the player but preventing someone else to sign him.
  13. I think Bledsoe might not be taking too many more snaps for the Cowboys. The O-Line is not good enough for Drew to be able to play his game. The Cowboys play with a real purpose with Romo in the game.
  14. Drew Bledsoe just benched for Tony Romo. Tony Romo just picked off on the 1st play of the 2nd half.
  15. Team are also going to be nervous giving him 5 gauranteed years. I could see 4/50 with a 5th year option. I am a little curious to how a new CBA could affect things this offseason. Less players might get offered arbitration which should lower salaries a little bit. And it sounded the Taxes would be going up a lot as well. Not sure how many teams would be affected and to what amount though.
  16. Speaking of Ball St, a friend of mine who goes to NIU came across this article last night: http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061020/SPORTS/610200466/-1/ZONES04 I thought the NCAA got rid of the 15K attendance policy, but I guess that's not the case. Not only does Ball St. seem to be in trouble, but about half of the conference (I think something like 3/4's of the conference this year) can't draw 15K to a game. The only teams that can easily outdraw 15K a game are NIU and Toledo. Central Michigan, the best team in the MAC West, only had 11K at their game against Bowling Green a few nights ago. The whole conference is basically screwed if the NCAA enforces this policy. And that is a load of crap because we have had really crappy weather at 2 of the BSU home games which diminished attendane. And what's Eastern Michigan supposed to do about the fact that Michigan Stadium is EIGHT MILES UP THE SAME ROAD? That attendance policy is absolute BS. Yeah I agree about the attendance policy. I could have SWORN that the NCAA got rid of the attendance policy around two years ago for I-A teams. I really don't understand how the NCAA can enforce this rule because of all the MAC teams that are averaging under 15K a game. I could be off here, but I know they imply this rule for 1-AA teams trying to become 1-A. I read a lot about it where Texas State is trying to become 1-A. Haven't read too much into it for existing 1-A teams. I am guessing once they are up, and already signed into a conference then the NCAA dones't really care too much. If they were an Independant then I think the NCAA would start to force this more.
  17. Yankee fans would also be calling for David Wrights head if he went 2-17 in the league championship series.
  18. I don't think they said that, I thought they were quoting what Urlacher said to be in the same class as Singletary. Leinart has done a great job in 2 starts though for the Cardinals.
  19. haha, Cornheiser with the Entourage reference. I knew I liked him.
  20. Lou is starting to warm up to me :D
  21. as long the offense goes back to what they had been doing, and not what the Raiders have been doing.
  22. The BCS rankings are already a joke because of the computer rankings. USC #1, O$U #3, Rutgers #9, Texas #15.
  23. Congrats to the Tigers. Hopefully they will finish it off now.
  24. Because we all know how fierce a rival the Canes are with FIU. What a bunch of hoodlums. I think only Texas-Oklahoma can match the intensity of Canes-Florida Int'l Its intense, more so between the fans being split at the 50 yard line but that doesn't happen. Honestly that doesn't happen anywhere but FSU and Miami. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that neither school could care less how much of a thug or trouble a player has gotten into.
